If you are not immediately accepted by the "clique" of individuals who seem to get away with everything, then you never will be. There is an air of "if you haven't worked here for 5+ years and don't subscribe to everything without question then you don't matter". "This is how we've always done it" seems to be the overall mindset, which is not sustainable for a nonprofit in this day and age, especially one whose services are so valuable. There was no space to express new ideas or opinions without fear of being immediately disregarded when leadership was involved. The level of disrespect between employees is ridiculous. Employees who are blatantly disrespectful to their superiors and colleagues and nothing is ever said or done about it. I was shocked with some of the behavior I witnessed that was never addressed. There was zero onboarding/training. And then when I was unaware of a policy or procedure, was chastised for not knowing.
