Pros

Opportunities to climb the ladder come up quite often

Cons

Bullying culture from the top of the chain down. Common to have a "favourite" of the month and everyone else is singled out. No work/life balance. If you aren't working 24/7 then you aren't working hard enough.

Pros

Can't think of any pros.

Cons

The bullying strategy put in place by the upper management is something that should be investigated. I am pretty sure that if one day someone working at Safestay calls in ACAS (or any other institution) to attend some of the meetings that take place, not only in London, but in other properties worldwide, things could get pretty nasty for Safestay. I mean, we are talking about a company whose core is to deliver good customer service (hospitality, right?) while internally bets on intimidation and aggressiveness to (try) to achieve its goals! This types of strategies are outdated, short minded and almost criminal. Needless to say, hence, that they don't care about its clients: it is only the money that matters.

Pros

Flexibility for days you want to work

Cons

This job does not care about any of their employees, and always prioritising money over everything else. Of course, it's a business, but they absolutely refuse to invest in anything to improve workflow or even just making their hostels better. Undervalued always, not providing enough staff during shifts to cover daily tasks, cleaning etc but expect you to work like a robot and you're left on your own. They don't want to invest to improve their hostels, so when things go south the staff members get all the bad rep and all negative complaints are on us. Their pay is already so low, yet they expect you as a 'Team Member' to work 3 job titles all at once, and even hesitant to provide overtime pay during busy days!
