Pros

* Spiritual Growth: Ideal for those looking to practice Digital Zen and Yoga. I spent months meditating in front of a black screen. * The "Incentive" Paradox: In a brilliant move of corporate surrealism, I was given a couple of hundreds of dinars salary raise while my computer was still refusing to boot. It’s the first time in history a company paid more for zero output due to their own hardware incompetence. A bold economic experiment. * Creative Writing: I learned how to "write code" in my head. I am now a Senior Mental Compiler. * The Invisible Man Experience: During COVID, I spent 3 months as a ghost. No hardware, no remote-access, no communication. Just me, my thoughts, a couple of cigarettes and a cup of coffee.

Cons

* The "Architect" Paradox: I worked for a Software Architect who, despite presumably knowing how computers work, expected a Junior to deliver results using only willpower and a broken motherboard. It’s like a General sending a soldier into battle with a spoon and then being disappointed by the lack of artillery fire. * The Technical Support Loop: 1. PC dies. 2. PC goes to IT. 3. IT looks at PC. 4. PC returns with the same "blue screen of death" to greet me like an old friend. Repeat until your soul leaves your body. * Contractual Gaslighting: They renewed my trial period just to see if the laptop would magically heal itself. Spoilers: It didn’t. When they finally cancelled the contract, it was the most "logical" thing that happened in months—the system finally shut down for good.

Old style company

Pros

Premises are modern and confortable.

Cons

Working at this company can be quite challenging. There is constant pressure on employees, and the salaries are relatively low considering the cost of living in the Paris region. The HR side leaves a lot to be desired, as communication and employee support could be much better. Additionally, the company tends to cut costs wherever possible, sometimes at the expense of employee well-being and comfort.
