The WORST company I have ever worked for, and that's not hyperbole

Pros

They carry some great brands, but that is it

Cons

Everything from the policies and procedures (including their unbelivably ancient software) to management to the employee discount to education is all a joke, and I never got paid enough to be tortured day in and day out by bullies in the workplace (especially when management had been aware of bullies for the better part of 6 months and did NOTHING). They don't invest in their employees, especially those in the stores, and every meeting is about the bottom dollar and how to squeeze a sale out of literally every customer and annoy them to the point that they buy something just to get you to shut up - that's not a business model that I can support. The CEO also believes that his stores shouldn't be stocked because it's "money on the shelves". Well, you're not gonna make money if you don't have the product on the shelves to purchase!!!!! Every day is so mentally and emotionally taxing that it's no wonder why there's a greater than 50% turnover rate. It's really gonna bite someday (soon, hopefully) and honestly, they have no one to blame but themselves. There's, of course, nepotism to the highest degree and the CEO has built and continues to enable an environment that benefits himself in the end, while the rest of us are left out to dry.

Pros

- Free product samples for sales teams - Employee discount for all employees - Marketing department does good work - Good sales and education support

Cons

- Owner can be very inappropriate and condescending to employees at times. - Chain of command is not always upheld, which results in employees going over their managers' heads, straight to the owner. - Upper management pushes buying into the company culture, but employees are quick to throw others under the bus to save themselves. - The two person HR department tends to lack confidentiality and good employee relations. - Written processes, procedures, and trainings are scarce. - Constant restructuring of the company, departments, and teams. Don't get comfortable with anything.

Pros

There isn’t one - Any Pros they take away

Cons

There is no training program. The managers in place do not know how to operate the system they have both in the field and in the store. The owner has some big plan that everyone is suppose to just work to achieve with no direction. The pay is horrible. The manager that hired me sold me a job and income that was never there. There is no car or phone allowance. They expect you to pay for pretty much everything out of pocket. It’s a W-2 position but, they expect you to pay for everything likes it’s a 1099 position. My manager while experienced from another state with another company was clueless when it came to realistic expectations and could never offer any direction. She was just a micromanager and never did anything to grow my business. I saw the writing on the wall when multiple people that had been there for 20+ years started leaving. They just couldn’t take the lack of support, constant fires that you have to put out everyday, and a manager that talks about getting rid of her employees to other employees behind their backs any longer. HR is a joke, they do not support the employee just the company. They keep adding so many product lines that no one can keep up. I was losing customers because of shipping delays because they put the owners son in charge and the warehouse is in a constant state of chaos. The owners daughter is the keeper of the kingdom and can’t even get on a virtual call and look presentable.
