Honestly, we both know why this didn’t work out. Your work was fundamentally unacceptable, and we terminated you.
An employer who reprimands you for leaving work repeatedly, without warning, is not a “toxic work environment.” Moreover, we engaged in several difficult conversations with you precisely because we DO care about our clients and the quality service we provide them.
As for Sam, he IS a demanding boss. He’s also honest. Perhaps this is the first time you’ve been called out and held accountable. It’s possible that every teacher, professor, and boss you’ve ever had has chosen to be nice to you instead of trying, like Sam did, to make you a better version of yourself.
