Zero morals, ethics, or abidance of industry standards
Pros
I worked with a small handful of kind, smart people
Cons
Beginning from upper management down, there are no set of morals or ethics in company and individual behavior. Office politics and brutal, ruthless displays of communication and finger-pointing run the day to day operations. The way I was spoken to, the way my colleagues were spoken to, and the overall sentiment portrayed in company town halls and daily communication was the antithesis of inclusive, respectful, and empathetic dialogue. The baseline expectation of professionalism is no where near met. The way I was spoken to by my Director and upper level management was appalling, and I truly can not understand how a company like this continues in good faith without the realization that deep rooted family ties and relationships in real estate, particularly in Boston, trump the priority for human kindness, care for employee career trajectory, and respect. There was not a single team meeting where a team member was not spoken to in a widely inappropriate manner, demoralized, and/or called out abruptly and with accusatory intent instead of spoken to with decency. The things I’ve heard, specifically attacks on someone’s looks, socio economic condition, and personal integrity I can not unhear. Most all employees are aware of this notion, but are silenced by threat tactics, gaslighting, and decent pay scale to lure individuals in initially. In addition, work/life balance is not a factor in the delegation and oversight of employee workload. I wish that this was not entirely true, but after one year of reconciling the damage that working at this company had on my mental well-being, I urge anyone seeking employment here to really do research and take into consideration the negative reviews posted before me. I write this with a good conscious in an effort to help others avoid what I went through.
