Pros

Easy hours Good pay and perks No pressure environment Good products Perfect place to live out your days if you are a central coast 7th day adventist who wants an easy lifestyle until retirement

Cons

Culture is very intolerant to anyone who isn't a combination of conservative, 7th Day Adventist, or related to other staff members Backwards thinking company which is allergic to any new ideas or ways to act like a proper business Lots of two-faced people so you are never sure who to trust As I was told "beliefs outweigh business here" The company preaches Diversity and inclusion, being your authentic self etc but you quickly realise that is just talk. You are always being watched

Pros

Staff shop and on sight parking

Cons

Poor recruitment has lead to the business being riddled with cancerous employees. Makes getting project completed very difficult and mentally draining when dealing with them.

Pros

There are some good perks such as the occasional gift voucher ($100) for full time employees when the company has had a good quarter. Events are always large and fun although very family focused. (no parties due to the beliefs) The cafeteria on site has good food (all vegetarian) and is an easy option when you forget your lunch. Very cheap options for good food and the staff in there are great.

Cons

The Laboratory tends to hire casual who are in the process of getting their food science degree but do not always give the workers an opportunity to progress past that, regardless of your experience/time at the company. Both of the managers in the quality department who oversee the interviews for new positions are very insular and gossipy and prefer to hire from existing relationships. If you are not chummy with them, you will be overlooked. When I worked here positions are given to men with no experience and no previous role within the company, over numerous women who have been working in the lab for 2+ years. The religious beliefs come heavily in to play when hiring and promoting people, with a skew towards men. If you are currently doing your food science degree and are offered a job at this company, I would recommend looking at Mars, or other smaller coastal companies. You will have a better chance for promotion and a long-term role after university. In short, the company is heavily driven by its religious beliefs, has no recourse for toxicity in it's hiring managers and prefers to turn a blind eye when an employer brings up issues.
