Pros

Beautiful landscape, great community, pervious projects had great conservation values.

Cons

Pivot away from true conservation work to concierge conservation. Focus to much making sure members are happy than protecting the land.

Pros

Spectacular location - The Santa Lucia Preserve is an amazing landscape to work in. It contains incredible biodiversity, dramatic topography, is surrounded by other conservation lands and has a human community (The Preserve land owners and staff) that help the Conservancy care for the 20,000 acres. Dynamic Team - the staff at the Conservancy is driven, high energy and focused on science guided management of the lands of the Santa Lucia Preserve. Well Funded - the Conervancy operates off of a well managed endowment that covers the annual budget. Fundraising and grant writing provide added funds for special projects.

Cons

Cost of living - the cost of living in California can be challenging, the Monterey area is no exception.
