Pros

Working at Satcom Global particularly within Technical Support is a challenging role, it's unlike other technical support based roles, it presents new challenges each day and some require 'out of the box' thinking and collaboration, for myself personally I find that to be one of the appeals of the role and one of the reasons I enjoy the job, the people I work with as well are a big positive, always willing to help and if I want to further my development I can request this and have done so, having passed various certifications/courses. There is opportunties for progression within the business as well, having already moved from a techical support specialist role into a team leader role and taking steps to look to further progress in the future.

Cons

I can see from previous reviews on here that there is a lot of talk of 'favouritism' and 'lack of training' What I will say is that some of these reviews were from quite some time ago, even before I started with the business, so I can only comment on how things are now, training is available to those who want it, they must request it and there is a clear procedure for this, any new starters undergo thorough training for a few weeks before being placed onto their agreed shift pattern, but just like everyone else they can request further training if required and this will be arranged. Once the training audit has been completed and should people want to progress further, upper management are willing to invest and put people through courses to further their knowledge and gain industry recognised certifications. Lastly when opportunities arise within the business for progression, those who have demonstrated a professional work ethic and have invested in themselves by completing their training and doing additional certifications/courses are usually the ones to be moved into those roles. Just like any business, it makes sense to promote those who want to be at Satcom Global and want to improve themselves, over those who don't want to be here and/or have made no effort to improve themselves. A lot of the reviews left here aren't constructive in their feedback, which is a shame as I'm sure they may have had valid points on things that could be improved, but instead have left nothing to work with. As for any cons, the only one I will say is that sometimes the communication between upper management and frontline can be hit & miss, but this is something that has been improving over the last few months.

Pros

There are no pro's to this place, they repeatedly lie to customers and staff alike.

Cons

Everything you could possibly imagine! Poor management, blame culture, inability to follow their own procedures. The only way to get on in the company is to say yes sir three bags full to every request.
