Pros

- Decent total compensation (Above Big 4, Below MBB and T2s), although pay is below all other consultancies on a $/hour basis - Exposure to senior leadership and opportunities to shape Satov's direction (e.g., Recruiting) - Fast career progression at junior levels with opportunities to play a 'manager' type role within 1 - 2 years - Exposure to clients from the get-go - Tight-knit junior team with high performing colleagues to learn from

Cons

- Significant variation in work hours, with weekend work expected during busy times (Hours can approach what would be expected in Investment Banking during particularly rough periods) - Intense work environment that seems designed to work you as hard as possible for as long as possible without focusing on your development (With little to no regard for your mental health) - Limited exit opportunities, and unlike other consultancies senior leadership is not supportive of exiting consultants - Leadership cares more about 'selling' work rather than delivering impact for clients, which results in short-term engagements/relationships and limited ability to influence long-term direction of clients - Lack of expertise in industries and functional areas, leads to significant churn and leadership feeling like they have to 'prove' themselves through sheer amount of work - Limited development opportunities and support to grow in your career

Pros

Pay is good albeit below industry standard. Heavy bonus weighting, but don't expect to receive it consistently..

Cons

This firm's reputation is not good for the resume. It will not open doors for you in terms of your next career stage. - not as advertised! - Egotistical leader who regularly harasses employees - Leaders struggle to sell work, primarily land low tier engagements with tier 3 brands, or private equity research - inexperienced staff - even the partners have limited actual industry experience, relying on short stints at Bain (not at senior levels..) to justify their 'expertise'. Be wary of a firm that re-positions their focus/expertise on an almost annual basis - Negative culture and work environment - pretentious staff, lack of diversity, micromanagement, old boys club - Expect to primarily be doing desk research (google searches.. they don't pay for any research), secret shopping or panel surveys.

The Satov Way, actually the only way

Pros

- Provide entry-level Analysts and Interns with hands-on experience, projects that get them in front of the client, and on campaigns where they can work on real relationship/negotiation/client-service skills - Young and energetic work environment - Very fast-paced

Cons

- Satov Way references their overall company mission, but is also a reference to the CEO/Founder's style of leadership: his way and only his way. Learning is not about making mistakes in his mind, but instead about consistently pointing out how and where you did things the 'wrong' way - Limited opportunities for growth - Salaries are slightly below industry average and benefits are sub-par - Somewhat of a boys club, which is typical of the industry, but given their competitors they should strive to change
