      Micro-managing + unsupportive managers

      Remote working Some managers are supportive

      HR are ineffective & couldn't care less about employees or contractors Some managers micro-manage because they don't have a clear vision for the company/subject No support with training/lesser experienced No acceptance of different ideas and cannot give a straight answer on standards for resources Management 1-1 meetings were forced, unhelpful and impersonal - not helpful and were simply micro-managing without understanding employees' value/experience No consistency amongst management - some were great work with, some horrific and wanted their way or none Expectancies amongst team members is inconsistent and unfair

      co workers and leaders are nice, either developers and content writers (teachers and alike)

      Cons

      i never had such a bad experience with a company... no consideration at all over the employees who drop sweat and blood for it... even at the end, they refused to pay the money i was due, i was forced to engage with a solicitor in UK... they wanted to reduce the amount of payment with the holidays i didn't use... yep, you read it well...

      Pros

      - Marketing leading salary - A brilliant team, with superb talent and great personalities - Autonomy to work how you like - Trust from leadership to do good work - A really light meeting culture with a couple at most, spaced throughout the day - A compelling mission to help kids in education - Loads of former teachers and tutors throughout the workforce, and generally lots of great people passionate about education - Share options mean you benefit from the company’s success - Great annual leave allowance

      Cons

      - We’re a bootstrapped company, we don’t always go as fast as we’d like, and we make careful and considered decisions, which isn’t really a bad thing. - We’re a startup, still defining our ways of working, we don’t always get it right, but we continue to try everyday
