Pros

Pay is decent, but you deserve every single penny, plus more, given what's expected of you from day one.

Cons

I don't have a bone to pick with Sazerac, and that's not why I'm leaving this review. I left on my own terms and under good circumstances. I am saddened though to see how management, especially the new group from the past 2-4 years, continues to erode what was once a great company. Long time employees are being let go in place of more inexperienced workers, workloads are doubling, turnover is sky high, and work/life balance has only gotten worse. The stress-induced atmosphere was more rampant during the last few years that I worked there, but I continued to go along with it because of the decent pay and job security. Unfortunately, job security, which was always a perk at Sazerac, no longer exists. I can no longer recommend Sazerac as a place to work for friends or others looking for a job. I'd feel guilty throwing them into the pressure cooker that Sazerac now is, only to possibly be looking for something else a few months later.

Pros

Great co-workers, good products, strong brands.

Cons

It is great that the word is finally getting out about the leadership at Sazerac. The CEO is vindictive, emotional and arrogant. If he is questioned or challenged, there is retribution. He surrounds himself with followers, not leaders. The money from the bonus program, as much as 3X salary, makes the job tolerable. I keep my head down, my mouth shut as I skip to the bank.

Pros

- Bonus is CRAZY and the primary reason people stay to deal with the madness - Hands-down the best bourbon portfolio in the world! - 400+ brands in the portfolio - Great distillery - Great people that are working the trenches with you - Great external training provided from third party companies - Robust budgets to support just about anything you need

Cons

- New senior leadership is methodically weeding out the "seasoned" individuals with alcohol background and replacing with younger CPG backgrounds...no loyalty to employees hitting/exceeding their numbers - Rarely promoting from within...majority are outside hires - Hiring people at a higher base salary for the same position as a way to weed out those remaining - Not a very cultural diverse company...at all. - What started out as a company embracing your entrepreneurial spirit has now become a top-down tracker happy company - Culture has shifted to dog-eat-dog mentality - Unrealistic expectations at all levels...you will need to work 70-80 a week to even come close to meeting them. - Many many more to site, but those are the biggies
