Disorganized company with a bully for an owner.
Pros
- Getting work experience with a wide variety of products, software, and machines. - Coworkers are friendly and actively willing to work together and learn new products and processes - Parking is never an issue.
Cons
- Pay is very low compared to what other commercial printers are paying in the area. For the majority of positions, expect to get paid less than grocery stores and fast food restaurants pay. - No vacation or benefits offered to hourly employees other than the bare minimum health insurance required by law. - No HR department or individual to report harassment to and have it documented - No company handbook that sets out the rules and guidelines. Rules are seemingly made up on the spot by management when it suits them. - Work schedules are not flexible and the punch in/out system automatically clocks you out at the end of your scheduled shift. - You can be taken off schedule at the whims of management based on the company's workload or if the owner is just looking for a scapegoat that day. - You will be promised a promotion and given the extra workload, but it could be months to a year or for them to follow through on any raise or not follow through at all. - Akil Kurji, the owner, regularly shows up to verbally abuse staff and threaten unjustified disciplinary action - The owner regularly makes vague threats to retaliate if key employees were to leave the company. - Owner will randomly demand employees to work past their normal work hours by up to 3 hours and will retaliate with verbal abuse and disciplinary action if the employee says they can't. - Owner will dump special projects on key employees that are completely unrelated to their department and/or outside the scope of their position. - Expect angry phone calls and text messages from the owner outside of work hours and late into the evening. - Expect to have your work interrupted by the owner so he can boast about himself and/or belittle you in front of coworkers - Owner willfully mocks employees to their coworkers and doesn't try to hide or keep confidential any disciplinary action taken against said employee - There are numerous safety issues that go ignored throughout both buildings.
