Thank you for this review. I hope your business outlook was just an interface oversight because we are turning away work right now? Im in agreement that we could do more to codify and add detail to our promotion pathway. I will take that back to our leads and see if we can give that more time and attention in order to kick off 2022 with more clarity. Im personally very glad you chose to work with us here. :-)

Pros

ScaleSec understands that people in the SecOps/SecDevOps/Compliance space are really in demand right now, so they know treating employees well is paramount to attracting top talent. That commitment shows; they really do support work/life balance and treat everyone like the adults they are. There's a lot of freedom to run engagements the way you see fit, to pursue things you find interesting, and to share any and all thoughts/ideas you have, including constructive criticism. We actually have a weekly forum for conversations like this, where nothing is off the table. Because this truly is a startup, you can see your suggestions put into action. Working from home is obviously a great perk, and the use of video conferencing and 1-on-1s with the entire team means you never feel isolated or like you don't have true coworkers. Benefits are on par with larger companies, and there is limited travel. Even though this is a startup, everyone comes from an enterprise background right now; this means that a lot of the hiccups I've seen at startups (disorganization, growing pains, lack of roadmaps) are avoided via careful, thoughtful planning. It's a bit "Wild West" at times, but nothing like some other places.

Cons

Because of the freedom and small size of the company, not everyone thrives. You truly need to manage yourself and your time effectively; no one will do it for you, and the only person responsible for missed deadlines is you! Think deeply about how well you can work unattended 100% of the time.

Thanks for taking the time to describe what Aaron and I have worked very hard to set up foundationally--that smart people want the freedom to think, create and have an impact, and do so while actually sleeping 75% of the time in their own house. It's not easy to get Enterprises to accept that remote execution brings them great deliverables at an excellent value. In exchange for solid self-discipline necessary for a WFH job, we offer 40 hour workweeks so employees can spend their weekends and evenings recharging, engaging with their families, attending sporting events, proposing to spouses (3 this year!!), and overall enhancing their lives. ScaleSec is people first, both employees and clients, because that is how you get the best work environment and work products. We are so glad you are here with us on this journey.
