I loved Scede, I used to shout about this place to the rooftops. I loved the people, leadership and how they were set up as business. However, they have utterly lost their way. I understand there is an economic downturn and tough decisions to be made. I really do understand that, it can be tough. But you simply can not drill into your employees that you’re ‘people-first’, ‘open’ and ‘transparent’ when the last 3-4 months you have completely fallen short on all 3. It’s actually been unbelievable how some of THE BEST recruiters I’ve worked with have been treated. Yes, redundancies have to be somewhat cut throat. But you have literally thrown 25+ employees to the curb with absolutely no aftercare. You even told us all not to contact them. So we can’t even offer symphony and say our goodbyes? Even typing that sentence is so ridiculous. I know some of them haven’t even had their own line managers reach out… it’s honestly insane how they’ve approached this. Your egotistical and arrogant approach to winning new business has bitten Scede badly. You had such strict guidelines for businesses to work with us and because you turned away some great potential clients that didn’t fit this exact criteria over the year or so I've been here, you’ve nearly had to half your business in size. I’ve recently been approached by 3 different RPO’s over the last few weeks. Why are they growing and we’re not? Don’t just blame the economy, you need to take accountability that you have commercially screwed up. Someone said to me once, your company is not your family and your boss is not your friend. This has come to life for me while at Scede.
