The management team has a tendency to drink its Kool-Aid a bit too much-growth isn't nearly as impressive as reviews from other managers here would suggest to me (they make a big song and dance about international expansion plans and growth, but over the years this has been really lacklustre in my experience), If management thinks "too much free coffee" is a con (see other reviews here), then that should give you an idea how out of touch they can sometimes be.
Beyond the management spin, the main con is how this translates to management being their own worst enemy and the impact this has on the rest of the team. Schoolbox has a tendency to prioritise former teachers in hiring and internal promotions. This has led to people in management positions coming from education backgrounds leading teams without, in my opinion, the other relevant experience and expertise. This is particularly evident in sales and marketing teams.
While overall Schoolbox is a decent place to work, I would caution people thinking of joining the sales or marketing teams to think twice based on the amount of chaos and changes these teams are seemingly constantly undergoing and how senior management seem to think they know the right sales and marketing strategy already.
