Pros

Flexible Hours Good Work/Life Balance

Cons

- Subpar benefits package (No STD, LTD, FSA, Dental is 100% Employee-paid, minimal 401(k) match). - Leadership that belittles employees, shows no appreciation, thinks they are above the law, screams and swears at employees, and on and on. - You will not learn any marketable job skills while you work there. The technology is way behind the times (think typewriters and Microsoft Office '98). The people who are long-time employees are still there for a reason...They will NEVER find a job at a reputable company. The people who leave quickly are the ones who are smart and realize that they are losing brain cells while working there and better get out before it is too late. -You will never get a "thank you" or "great job." -Unprofessional blue-collar work environment...lots of uneducated people. -The facility smells and the stench permeates clothing, hair, etc. -New ideas are not welcomed...You will hear a lot of, "We do it this way because it was done this way 40 years ago." Very inefficient processes and procedures.

First of all I want to say how sorry I am that it has taken this long to be able to respond to your posting. Thank you for taking the time to give SPM your open and honest feedback about how we can operate better. I am really sorry that your time at SPM did not match our intention of being the best possible place to work. I am taking your feedback & addressing it to the letter and aiming to mend all of the places we missed in producing a great experience for you, and potentially other past/present employees. SPM has made strides over the past year to install new technologies, train & develop personnel, open the lines of communication between supervisors & operators as well as welcome internal & external suggestions from inside & outside the manufacturing industry. I can only speak for myself, and I say that SPM is a great place to work and feel secure, my goal is to have each and every single employee say the same, and I hope for that goal to be accomplished very soon. Nonetheless, thank you for your feedback and pointing out where we as a company still have opportunities for improvement. You feedback is extremely important and has been acted upon. If you would like to share more about your experience place contact me directly by emailing joshc@schultes.com so that we can set time aside for a true conversation when I may be able to learn more from you on how to help SPM become even better than where it stands today. Thank you one more time for your feedback it helped & helps us make SPM a desirable place to work and best of luck to your future endeavors. Thank you kindly, Josh Czarnik Director of Human Resources SPM

Pros

Everyone is friendly, it's usually busy. The president of the company is very involved. They want you to learn.

Cons

Bathrooms are disgusting. Management is disorganized. Everything gets done last minute. When you do something wrong they don't take actions against employe.

Thank you for your open and honest review of the current operations at SPM. I can see that you are a current employee and wanted to take this time to quickly tell you how much feedback like this points us in the right direction. I am glad that to see Ryan’s involvement in the operations is a pro in your opinion as well as our desire to learn more. I can say, personally, that I love the fact the Ryan is hands on and that he is desires all of us to be continual learners. I would like to respond to the points you have made and that we have listened to: 1. Bathrooms. We have recently enlisted the services of UST cleaning to help us address the cleanliness issues and UST have been doing a fantastic job! This is no excuse though for having poor quality bathrooms. The bathrooms are very dated and although the cleaning activities have been increased I personally do foresee the bathrooms getting better with time. Therefore we have begun to gather quotes for a complete remodel of the bathrooms and locker room area for our valued employees. We do hope to have the bathrooms replaced very soon! 2. Disorganized management and everything being done at the last minute. Again, thank you for the direct feedback. I agree with you. I personally have not been with the company that long, and I feel disorganized most days. When I attempt to put myself into the shoes of the employees on the shop floor I find it very difficult to process the information, directions and instructions being handed down to you a tough task to take in. No one should feel confused at work, and therefore please know that we are: a. Keep self-awareness, by asking you and all employees to give us feedback as often as possible. b. Further our education, by trying to improve our management styles and strategies through more structured formats that we are all learning at the same time. c. Asking for ideas, by asking our machinist to present and test out efficiency ideas and processes. d. Examining our values as a company to see not only what is important to us but also what is important to every employee. e. Changing our communication standards, by changing our delivery methods to see if we can accomplish better results. f. Being better mentors to all of you. 3. When someone does something wrong and said person(s) are not held accountable. This is never a direct answer, but I only know what I know and nothing else. This is again, when your feedback is some important. I can only hold someone accountable for poor performance and/or rule breaking when it becomes present in my eyesight or is brought to my attention. Please make sure to always remember to help each other as employees as much as possible, even in difficult situations like what you might be describing. If you witness someone doing “something” wrong please tell that person they are doing something wrong. Everyone’s behavior is always logical to that person, therefore that person might not know he/she is doing anything wrong and sometimes all it takes is a gentile reminder to be put back on the right path. We are a team and we must respect one another as teammates. Teammates don’t let other teammates break the rules. Always remember that you can come talk to me directly in HR or any of your supervisors when you have situations like this in the future. Changing the culture of a company is not something we can do overnight, but with dedication and attention; it is something we can certainly do. Thank you again for your honest feedback with the opportunities we have in front of us as a company and please rest assured we are addressing everything as promptly as possible. Thank you kindly, Josh Czarnik Director of Human Resources SPM

First off I would like to apologize for my tardy reply. I want to thank you for taking the time to give SPM your feedback. You are obviously one of the many fantastic, committed, employees at SPM after seeing your years of experience with us. I am also glad to see your expectations for growth match that of the rest of the company. We will continue to grow and while that growth happens I will be making every effort to keep the company fresh with talent. We will continue to support you and we can only hope that you will support SPM going forward. Never stop communicating with your co-wrokers, supervisors and HR about suggestions you may have to help SPM in future endeavors and/or projects. Thank you again for your feedback and please feel free to update SPM regularly with feedback.
