DEATH ROW

Pros

Can get yourself front row seats watching the CEO lose his temper and front people up in the office - quite entertaining!

Cons

The good reviews below have the CEOs lipstick marks all over them - he’s not even cunning enough to not use the same exact language and terms he uses in company wide meetings. Clearly can’t be bothered to spend the time making the positive reviews even sound genuine, yet he still managed to pull the wool over the boards eyes for the past decade! A CEO with a schizophrenic leadership style to mask him not actually knowing what he’s doing, dragging the brands down with him and not for the first time in his career. Your deemed great at your job if in his ever delusional mind your favoured but the very next day your useless and a waste of company money. No.2 in the business pretends he’s busy but spends his days flirting and trying to get into colleagues pants. Completely two faced and tells you what you want to hear whilst stabbing you in the back. Strategic business decisions don’t make any real sense but it will be your fault they don’t work as you agreed to them (if you don’t agree your negative, blocker to growth or just exited from the business so you quickly learn to be a yes man if you wish to stay) There are people now in the business who read these reviews before joining and still joined and now regret it. So if you read these and join this business you do deserve all you get…

Pros

Good product and nice people

Cons

High turnover as a result of poor leadership, most Directors have either exited or are exiting, unfortunately it is far easier for the common denominator to blame “the great resignation”, “gen z/ millenials” or the leavers rather than look at their own behaviour. If everyone who reports to you leaves, they might not be the problem. In my experience the plan will change and so will your role, expect your role to change frequently as the plan changes and the goal posts move. There is a good chance you will be brought in to manage a business structure that wont exist 3 months later. No health benefits, statutory sick pay and the occasional wellbeing call will all be part of your package. The irony being if you needed to take time off for any type of mental health related issue you are very unlikely to recieve your full salary. As many reviews before have pointed out there are a few suspiciously positive reviews on here, I would advise anyone considering a role at SiS to reach out to a random ex employee on Linkedin and ask about their experience.

Don't do it, you deserve better

Pros

This is a tough one, I'm scrapping the barrel to find anything positive to say. Sports Nutrition is a great category and the brands have some residual value albeit they are being destroyed by the current leaders.

Cons

Where to start, it's a failing business led by a delusional CEO who blames everyone but himself. The business is falling apart which means there is no job security. You may get a much bigger/more senior job here but only because no one else wants to work here. Be careful about working on the Exec team as this means constant abuse, humiliation in public and undermining by the CEO. As a result between April & May 4 of the Exec team resigned. You won't be able to make a difference because you will be micro-managed and decisions are made by only 1 person, the CEO, as he is accountable to shareholders. This CEO has run a business which has a constantly changing strategy. What that means for employees is no job security. There have been examples of people being 'exited' before they join, within 4 weeks as well as after 10 years of outstanding service. No job is safe other than the CEO. An external report has confirmed the CEO demonstrates 'bullying behaviours' and he is destroying share-holder value at a pace that is breath-taking and yet he is still in role.
