Pros

Sea Smart is a wonderful, supportive place of work. The team is full of passionate, dedicated individuals who will work magic to make a change. The dedication shown by the team and management to the organization's mission is without question and this is evident in every program and project that Sea Smart organizes. The team is small but everyone chips in where needed, it operates under the motto that all employees are equal. Dr. Elaine Leung, Sea Smart's ED, is kind and always helping out where needed. She leads the team and is quick to think of new ideas and get creative. She's fun and exciting to work with and is encouraging in every way possible. I loved the goals Sea Smart sets for itself and appreciated that priorities related to DEI and accessibility were never considered as a box to check off. The organization from the beginning has been fully committed to providing accessible education to everyone and goes out of its way to make sure that everyone has the same opportunities to engage in their programming. Meeting these priorities also extends internally. Sea Smart's staff and board members for a majority are female (or identify as female) and people of colour. This was refreshing to see! This is a great place to work if you enjoy a dynamic environment!

Cons

None. Great place to work!

Pros

Working at Sea Smart was an incredible experience! I had the privilege of being part of a small team where mutual support and communication were fundamental. What truly stood out to me was seeing the tangible impact of our efforts on students. Through summer camps, school workshops, events, and community partnerships, I had the opportunity to raise environmental awareness to students across Metro Vancouver. Collaborating with such talented colleagues and witnessing the positive change we brought about has deeply inspired me and reaffirmed my commitment to our meaningful mission.

Cons

I honestly had an amazing time working at Sea Smart. The team inspired me to continue my passion for teaching to become a teacher.

Pros

Very much love this job! In the summer I got to teach kids at the beach about ocean conservation while enjoying the sun. Year round I'm working with a small close team of supportive and positive people to create and deliver corporate programs and programs for at risk youth.

Cons

Can't think of any cons.
