Pros

If you form connections and bonds with your coworkers, hold onto them and it’s bearable.

Cons

Mediocre benefits. Inconsistent communication and abrupt changes without thoughtful consideration. This company was founded on core values such as hope and integrity and prioritized a positive culture while providing excellent patient care. All of this went out the window when Pinnacle came into the picture and money is the only thing on their mind. Senior leadership who’ve dedicated over a decade of hard work were abruptly and heartlessly fired right before Christmas. It’s getting extremely difficult to find a reason to stay and have hope.

Pros

Other navigators are supportive and friendly, option for 50% WFH after 1 year in navigator position, providers are generally approachable and helpful.

Cons

SRM has always been a somewhat poorly run company in my opinion, but when Pinnacle bought them out things went from bad to horrific. Pinnacle is by far the worst healthcare company I have ever worked for. Constant internal changes being rolled out and then later rolled back because they don’t work, inadequate staffing in the navigator position, unsafe patient loads (160+ per navigator), lack of appropriate compensation (nav role starts at $25/hr for non-RN and Pinnacle no longer hires RNs in the nav position), no guarantee of yearly merit increases, terrible health care benefits, extremely high turn over rate, etc. Pinnacle’s model seems to be set on pinching pennies and cutting costs wherever possible. Somehow they can afford to rebrand the entire company, but they can’t afford merit increases of more than 1-3%. They also seem to think they can skirt around WA State labor laws unless you threaten to report them. If you want to work for a company that thinks the best way to increase patient satisfaction is to “smile more”, this is the place for you. If you want to work for a company that values you not only for the work you do, but also as a human, I would run as fast as you can in the other direction.

Pros

Nice physicians, and most of the staff are nice.

Cons

Catty, back stabby, and full of drama. This is a small company established 16 years ago and unwilling to change with the times. When you interview, they will tell you they welcome change and new ideas, but that is just a façade. Leadership does not like when you question their decisions, they dance around in circles to defend their opinions. It’s also obvious that leadership is very unclear about specifics regarding some job titles which makes taking them serious hard. Favoritism is strong with certain employees making team dynamics a nightmare. They cultivate and incubate bullying, retaliation for addressing concerns, “clique” mentality, enable ill behavior such as gossip, manipulation and division. Leadership is very one sided, absent from work flows, disconnected from the true happenings, makes rash decisions and quickly changes their minds, been caught in several lies about trivial matters, enables ill and poor behavior (absolutely worth repeating), will not document employee complaints about policy not being followed, or for incompetent/non-compliant workers. Leadership also does not honor confidentiality, and neither does HR. There is no support and employees are often left to fend for themselves; then reprimanded for being forced into that situation. There is zero interest in certain staff recognition and definitely no focus on staff retention. Extremely toxic work environment, the benefits are expensive and less than desirable, and there is little room for any job title other than RN to move up within leadership.
