Pros

NONE, they will lie to you about making $2,000 a week which never happens.

Cons

They will lie and tell you that they will give you 3-5 appointments per day. This will not happen. They want you to cold call 20-40 accounts per day to make your own appointments. This is a not a real sales job, but a scam for them to get free leads on your dime. Do not waste your money and time on this sham.

I'm sorry things didn't work out. We wish you all the luck in your future but I'd like to clarify a few things about the outside sales position for anyone else thinking of joining the team. You are required to self prospect, this is true. The minimum we ask of our Agents is 10 leads submitted weekly, not 40 per day. Our marketing department will provide any actively selling agent with 3-5 leads per day. (Actively selling, is 1 deal per week to keep the Marketing leads flowing) We encourage you to meet the neighbors, and turn in any self prospects so we can try to set the lead for you. I didn't think I'd have to explain why meeting more customers and maximizing your day would reap greater rewards on Friday's payroll but yes, it sure does. In addition, we pay an extra $200 on top of the regular commission just for self prospecting the deal, we think that's more than fair. They did lie about making $2,000 in a week. They meant per day :) You must work to get paid, that's really how it all works. Anyone that applies for the position needs to know that, and I apologize if that wasn't clear. We'll do our best to paint a better picture in our training process. Your comment is dearly noted and will help us get better. Take care,

Pros

The only benefits of working for this company are weekly paychecks and set hours.

Cons

There is only a shell of an HR department, which is intentionally made to appear unavailable to employees. Grievances brought to supervisors go completely unaddressed, and supervisors are given license to treat their teams in a hostile, and often sexist, manner. While sales is treated as well as they are compensated, all support staff is worked to the bone and not compensated adequately. Employees are often reprimanded for issues not in their control or things that they were incorrectly taught. There are no consistent training procedures, nor are there stated expectations, which fluctuate with the mood of management. The company is structured in such a way as to intentionally avoid offering healthcare benefits without incurring any penalties. Fear of retaliation from management forces employees not to voice any complaints of any nature. The company has the feeling of an unruly frat house, resentful of female presence and devoid of any checks on inappropriate behavior. Sales reps outright lie to merchants without any repercussions from management. Not only should potential employees beware of Securus, but also any small business owners requiring credit card processing.

Securus strives to help all employees and has an extensive HR Department. It sounds like you never met with our HR Director or submitted a formal complaint. Also we provide health benefits, sick days and vacation.

We value each and every employee at Securus. Everyone here works their tales off everyday to make this company great. At times it seems like I need 50 more people to handle the growth and other times we grow a little too quick for our demands. In this case we had a department that outgrew the sales staff and we needed to scale our demand. I expect this to be short term as with each year, things get a little slow through the Holidays which hinders the rapid growth we've come to enjoy every year. The first quarter is typically a bounce back time after all the teams weather the Holidays and short week of selling. We've been awarded the fastest growing company in Oregon and our industry, and we're not about to slow down now. I'm hoping to see you back in here VERY SOON.
