Pros
Coworkers and most shop floor employees were great to work with, and despite the very low morale, supportive of each other.
Cons
Management lacks direction and focus. On the rare occasion that a manager has good ideas, and wanted to implement them, they are rarely empowered by higher level management to make those changes. Shop level employees' suggestions are not taken seriously, despite any years of experience that they may have, or the validity of the suggestion. Training is nearly nonexistent. Management is scared to train people, beyond the bare minimum required to do their job, for fear that the employee will just leave afterwards. Very little upward mobility. Employees do not feel like this is a place where they can grow, make a difference, and advance, so the overall attitude is one of malaise and malcontent. Turnover is very high, management takes too long to address turnover issues, and fails to find the root cause when they do. Much of the higher management is self serving, and more concerned with obfuscating problems than actually fixing them. Some managers excel at passing blame, using lower level employees as scapegoats to cover the real issues within departments. Very much an, "It's better to look good than be good" mentality within the company. While one can get a somewhat competitive wage upon hiring in, advancement beyond the initial wage is very poor. Unacceptable ethical and moral behaviors. The treatment of employees, and methods that have been used to terminate their employment is generally deplorable. The treatment of service companies and their employees, that are called in to perform maintenance repairs, is completely unprofessional. Genuine complaints from employees have been ignored, with the employees receiving disciplinary action if they do not comply, despite the concerns being of a potentially sexually harassing nature. This company has very little to offer any potential employee. My recommendation to you, if you want a career in aerospace machining, assembly, or CNC maintenance, is to pass this company up. As a side note, I worked for the company for nearly 18 years, and did not receive an exit interview upon giving my resignation.
