Pros

SHO is renovating and expanding its residences and services for very low income residents; we have a new culture and benefits that reward mission-centered employees; new services are on the horizon and employee satisfaction is rising fast.

Cons

All employers are struggling to find more staff in this low-unemployment environment, and SHO is no exception. We need more dedicated folks to help us serve our very deserving residents! We are not perfect, but our culture, benefits and wages have changed drastically over the past 30 months.

The organization is constantly evolving and making changes to increase employee satisfaction , promote wellness, and is very supportive about providing resources and training to better their employees. Their benefits itself has significantly improved over the last few years. Management team is strong, very knowledgeable about this industry and truly care about their residents and employees. This is a very mission-driven place to work and very rewarding!

Cons

They are trying to stay competitive with wages, but as a non-profit, this continues to be struggle to compete with wages offered by for-profit organizations of similar industry.

Hypocrisy, ED seems nice enough but has zero knowledge of how the business really works, non-supportive of staff, critical, too many high expectations and not enough time and money, doesn’t really support change, people have to do others jobs in order to proceed with their own. Everyone is doing their own thing therefore no one is synchronized
