Pros

The pay is okay enough and management does know a lot about the nuances of protective services.

Cons

There's a low-grade toxic culture here that the lack of diversity should tell you enough about. If you don't fit a very specific and very narrow mold — especially racially— don't expect to be set up for success. They will not invest in your growth and expect you to read their minds. They have little tolerance or patience for people learning the role unless you fit a mold. That directly impacts the guidance you receive and whether anyone actually cares if you fail. The management style is passively aggressive in a specific way: they tell you to come to them with any questions, then act annoyed when you do — or worse, use it against you when evaluating your progress. I initially wrote it off as stress. Then I noticed they didn't treat other employees the same way. I prefer independent work, but that doesn't mean I don't ask questions when I need to or that management shouldn't check in with me — the response I got made it clear that wasn't welcomed from me the way it was from others. It became clear they weren't invested in me unless it was to document a mistake. They smile in your face, but don't mistake it for genuine. Beyond the culture the benefits are also not good. There's no flexibility and theres a lack of trust in their employees. There are much better places to work in and much better work cultures out there.

Pros

If you are a manager you can bully the underlings - but don’t worry you’ll never work your way up unless you are a friend of theirs then you can walk right into the job with no experience or qualifications

Cons

It’s like working within a cult. Unless you go to a specific church you aren’t in “the club” - needless to say diversity is non-existent. Also they do no work. If you’re good at your job you will get the most work while others do nothing. They don’t actually help any elderly people.
