Pros

Worked at the Beverly, MA location, liked the technology, but the core product development happens mainly offshore via a service provider with 12 hours time-zone difference which makes collaboration with the small team in Beverly very difficult. There is also another smaller software engineering team in Austin, TX working on another product for supply chain security and almost all engineers quit over there due to the new management and they ended up hiring consulting company to help.

Cons

Product Management organization in Sensitech is very old-school, does not understand true agile and lean engineering concepts and immediately shuts down any ideas for product improvements coming from the engineering team. The overall Sensitech atmosphere and culture is very political due to the fact that Sensitech started as a hardware company and recently started to see more value in the software since hardware is now a commodity, but engineering leadership has no enterprise software development experience and rely on personal impressions to make decisions that leads to a political war.

Pros

Part of UTC so employees have access to those resources/benefits. Flexible hours (does not apply to everyone), interesting product line.

Cons

Members of the management team have been in their positions for too long and have become set in their ways. Steady turnover of employees with less than 5 years of experience coupled with an abundance of long-term employees means that newer ideas/people don't really stand a chance and as a result the office culture is set in stone. No effective HR to speak of and passive/aggressive management behavior can and does result in employee morale problems.
