Great principal (not every school, though), great coworkers

Cons

No paid maternity leave, insurance is far too expensive, the pay is insulting for the amount of student drama, paperwork, disrespect (from parents, other teachers, admin, and students). Only become a teacher if you enjoy being a doormat or a punching bag (literally. I've been punched by a student).

It's a good-old-boy's club with little room to advance into administration or other roles in the county.

admin can make or break your excitement to come to work. beware there are some bad administrators out in the county.
