Not many pros at this organization, other than respite days and EAP. However, the mission is really important.

Cons

1. Does not have growth paths/opportunities for my career. 2. Is disorganized with task management. 3. Has no SOPs or processes written down. 4. Some of the management includes just pushing tasks on people, instead of collaborating and supporting tasks that are delegated. 5. Collaboration is talked about, but only practiced in urgent situations for the the most part. 6. No leadership opportunities. 7. Too much instability.

Great mission, great people. Our programmatic impact is stronger than ever. Strong brand and partnerships. Overall, more flexibility than other places I’ve worked.

Cons

Share Our Strength has been through a lot of change over the last couple years and culture has taken a hit. In hindsight, it’s clear we grew too much during the pandemic when fundraising spiked and that led to difficult budget cuts over the past 18 months. It’s not been easy but changes were overdue in a lot of areas. it feels like we’re heading to a more stable place.
