Terrible time to be a “Sharpie”

Pros

Talented, hard working junior team members keep the agency afloat.

Cons

Agency is hemorrhaging clients and talent due in large part to extreme mismanagement. VPs are lazy and clueless as to how to manage a team, President is detached and impersonal, and the CEO is downright predatory. Things are going downhill faster than anyone could have ever imagined.

Pros

Young entry-level staff are friendly and hardworking. Their talent is wasted at Sharp.

Cons

Agree with earlier reviews about inept management. I will go further to point out that Sharp was founded by white men who came of age in 1980s Manhattan and it shows. Their lifestyle and ethos is still embedded in the company culture 2 decades after Sharp started. Clients are still 'ladies who lunch' set, a dying breed in NYC, which explains why the company's client list grows smaller every year. Palm Beach office over other markets. No significant POC representation in mid and senior level executives...EVER. Zero drive to understand or cater to diverse marketing segments or to think beyond a Park Avenue mindset, which is disappointing given that NYC is one of the cultural hubs of the world. Sharp has failed to evolve with the times and employees do not grow because mindsets and strategies have been stagnant since 2005...
