Pros

Work hours are flexible and the insurance coverages are descent. Great opportunity to grow if you are an entry level designer.

Cons

Short deadlines, not enough time to "build-out" websites but more than enough time to design them. The management think they know a lot about design but are shocked when you tell them that the whole business is falling behind on the trends in the industry. The owner is completely out of touch of what is going on and is rarely in the office. It doesn't give you a good sense that he really cares what is happening with his employees.

Pros

Great friendly people, fast paced work environment, great benefits: matching IRA contributions, 2 weeks vacation available on day 1, 3 weeks after 3rd year, good health plan (ppo)

Cons

lower-than-average salaries for web designers and developers, senior management likes to micro-manage, senior management doesn't grasp concept of production schedules. Budgets are micromanaged and new office amenities and software require a lengthy "approval process" which is mostly used to surf the web and find a cheaper price, and if one can not be found - request is denied. For developers, production schedule is usually 50% or 75% of the estimated time for a project - this is completely arbitrarily decided on in order to make the end-contract price more attractive to clients.

Pros

Sharp Innovations has been one of the most positive work environments I've experienced in my career. Much of that has to do with the modalities and mentalities of the people who work here, and the leadership's hiring methods. I have witnessed the hiring process a few times, and I'm continually surprised by how much thought is put into hiring not just for someone's skills and talents but how well they will fit into the cohesive friendly work environment. Although Sharp has grown even in my time here, it's still a small team so everyone is here to pitch in, help answer questions, and solve problems, which has been great. While there isn't much overlap planning-wise between the three prime departments. (Development/Programming, Frontend/Backend design, and Marketing) Everyone is very open to external input regardless of where they fall on the org chart. This has been something I've highly valued. To that point, Sharp has been the first agency I've worked at where the talent and experience levels are high, and the egos are humble.

Cons

Each team approaches various things in different ways. Causing some confusion as to who to tap when you need some help outside of your area of focus. (This is especially true for new employees.) While leadership is open to new ideas, it seems to me there is a slight bias against overhauling and implement new systems internally
