Business outlook
Pros
Great people to serve, very gracious. Make your own hours/schedule. Very few board meetings Lots of room for new ideas i.e. trial and error exploration
Cons
Can only afford one full time staff when a team is truly needed to meet the needs of a small congregation (this is countered by a very active membership and a missional focus however!) No parsonage, must purchase a home in the area (though for many this is a pro!) Health insurance is not included (however as self-employed senior staff this is mitigated by seeking Masshealth which is outstanding if you have children).
