Don't be fooled- this place is a nightmare

Pros

Good health insurance. But premiums are pro-rated based on the employee's individual salary. Higher paid employees subsidize premiums for lower paid employees

Cons

This place is actually horrific. I know you are tempted to ditch your commute or work closer to home. I repeat: this place is horrific. They will sell you a bill of goods during the interview process, in particular for salaried and professional-level positions. They are not what they seem. Management regularly lambasts employees for posting any sort of negative reviews on sites like this. The culture is toxic with arbitrary rules that are really designed to be power plays and games against employees. Turnover is ridiculously high- they will fire you for pretty much anything, especially during your first 90 days. Don't even think about taking a day off for the first 6 months. HR is a joke- no actual HR experience in that department- beware. They have tried to fire employees for complaining internally and to external agencies about their tactics. You might think I'm exaggerating, but I'm not in the least. Upper managememt is grossly incompetent, professionally inbred, sociopaths who could not function at an actual company. Again, please do not be fooled like so many people before you. This place is absolutely not what it purports to be and is not worth leaving your current job for, no matter how much better off you think you'll be. You have a very real possibly of being terminated and right back to your job search- please don't take the risk.

Worst Company I Have Ever Worked For

Pros

Provide fresh fruit on Tuesdays Fair pay New hire training and ongoing training is great

Cons

They know it’s bad too. The higher ups ask new hires in training not to write bad reviews online and to keep complaints in house. Employees are required to learn the horribly outdated and ridiculous processes on archaic systems, but never contribute anything of their own and never change anything. Managers and Directors micro-manage at an extreme level and treat everyone like children. Most are incompetent, but are in the “good ol’ boy” club. I agree with the person who said these people could never function in an actual company. No one is held accountable for their actions, in fact, they actively avoid disciplinary actions. There is poor communication between all departments. No one is on the same page and employees are discouraged from communicating with other departments without asking the boss first. Finger pointing and throwing people under the bus is commonplace, leading to hostility around the office. Outdated culture such as no eating at desks, no technology (can’t use cell anywhere in building or have work emails set up on phone). Change is between slow and non-existent. Salaried employees are treated as hourly employees. Culture is strange and very difficult to get used to. There's no logic or common sense, one of the many reasons there's extremely high turn over in the first 6 months. President is a crazed bully with a toxic attitude that has infected everyone from the top down. HR is a joke. Completely unprofessional and nothing is confidential. There is so much illegal activity happening in that company, I’m shocked that they haven’t been hit with a lawsuit yet.

By FAR, the worst place I have EVER worked!

Pros

The only pro I can think of is that in most departments they didn't consistently expect you to work overtime; the office was generally empty by 5:00pm, but that's probably because they didn't want to pay overtime.

Cons

- Hostile work environment, and this seems to be tolerated because management is generally hostile towards their employees; the CEO has set the tone in this regard - Management treats employees like children; there is no trust or respect from management to staff, employees are constantly micro-managed, there are no mobile phones allowed except on break (unless you are in management), managers watch the clock and you are chastised if you clock in one minute late, of course you can clock in a few minutes early but you are not compensated for this - You are expected to mold completely to their image, dress nice, sit there, shut-up, and do your menial job; this workplace is well suited for robots and there is no place there whatsoever for creative or slightly alternative individuals - Dress code is very strictly enforced, which is ridiculous for corporate office employees that are not customer-facing; and don't forget to tuck in your shirt, unless you happen to be a summer intern and relative of one of the senior management. - Compensation is well below par, especially for those in the IT/IS Departments, which explains why their IT/IS environment is such complete crap and they seem to have a very hard time retaining top talent - Nepotism, the "good-old-boy network", and in general the sense that it's management vs. staff seem to be the norm, and HR is definitely on the side of management, not staff - Senior management all have prime parking spots right by the front door and staff are not allowed to park there anytime, which just supports their self-serving attitudes and the belief that they are better and more important than the rest of the staff There are many more things I could point out but in general, avoid this place at all cost. Even if you are a SC local, there are too many other great, innovative companies out there that really appreciate, trust, and respect their employees
