      The worst parts of a startup and large company combined

      Pros

      Generally not boring work, normal work/life balance, interesting products.

      Cons

      To elaborate on my headline, this place has somehow managed to take the worst of both worlds: startup and large company. Startup: Awful pay, no focus on personal/professional development, poor people management, expected to do the job of technicians and work nights and weekends, poor planning. Large company: Sterile culture, annoying HR, politics and bureaucracy, low diversity, especially in management, arbitrary hiring decisions, little to no transparency.

      * Despite being a startup, the company has solid funding and financial stability. * There’s dedicated IT and HR support, which makes operations smoother than most early-stage companies. * Sister companies within the same group tend to collaborate and support each other.

      Cons

      * There’s little to no organizational structure — priorities often shift without notice. * Decisions and project directions frequently change based on the CEO’s mood or vision of the week. * Upper management lacks clear leadership and accountability, which trickles down to confusion across teams. * Compensation/benefit is below market rate compared to similar roles in the industry.
