Pros

Sinking, sunken, best of luck!

Cons

The top management is what making this company sink to bottom. All members of top management are from Korea and are interim for only two years. They have a stable "home" to go back to, and this is all just game for them. Looking for short big gains so that they can get promoted back in their parent company. Due to these practices, you are losing your most valuable assets, your human resources. The HR department is being ran by unmotivated people with "I have no clue, and zero experience in HR" manager above them. It can't get any better for aiming to hit rock bottom. Don't get me started with the compliance, team full of inexperienced players that are incapable of taking responsibilities. Again, top management and HR decisions. Best of luck, you'll need it but it won't help.

Pros

Great benefit (Excellent for multi-family members) No layoff Continuous hiring due to turnover California is worse

Cons

90%of people working there have no pride in working with Shinhan brand. Cannot show business card to your friends or colleagues because it is not recongized much. They work because they have no where else to go or are quietly searching an opportunity to move to different company or bank. Only 10% of employees who came from Korea have so called "Top Notch" pride since they are trained that way and they get paid well. They are the ones that get paid 50k to 80k.;Only 10%. The remainder gets 30k(start with college degree) to 42k (experienced, 3 years, ONLY in NY) who are hired in US Truth...If you just want a stable job (no layoff) with lowest pay in the banking industry n awesome benefit, this bank is the best place to be. Lay back. No challenge, but a lot of workload without using brain, WORK Here.

Pros

Read the cons... five words

Cons

I worked at shinhan for close to one year and it was a living hell. I’ve worked at different banks, and never had i had to deal with these types of arrogant people. There are sweet, hard working co workers, don’t get me wrong, but when the power is given to the wrong people, things can go bad.. You’ll have to deal with upper management or anyone who is older than you(this is a culture thing..)or higher level than you bully you and you will have no one to back you up because once you rebel and speak your mind even if it’s part of your job, you will be reprimanded and whoever stuck by you will be reprimanded as well. You will become submissive and have no opinion of anything and wait for orders because that is only thing you CAN do. And constantly told to speak out if you feel there is something wrong, because they know the turnover of employees are shooting the roof and they want to fix it lol.. Sounds crazy? Yes.. but it’s all true. This structure is not going to change unless the HR and upper management understand that this “culture” is poisonous and it will scare away all employees. Especially the experienced ones that know you will be treated more humanely and respectfully elsewhere.
