Pros

Shockoe recognizes that its people are core to what it offers, and you truly feel part of a like-minded group. The organization likes to pursue innovative technology, which keeps things interesting. Diverse and caring team.

Cons

Many of the same growing pains faced at all small, growing companies: inconsistent communication and transparency, new business development, etc.

Free lunch every wednesday. Hackathon yearly. Office is closed for the last week of the year. Push you to learn a lot. No micromanaging.

Cons

Hard to understand expectations some times.

Facade of Cool Work Culture Hides How Toxic it Really is

Pros

Awesome coworkers, weekly lunch & learn series, lots of catered events and outings, interesting projects and clients.

Cons

Long work hours expected often, office favorites were very obvious. Not a lot of upward mobility or job growth opportunities. The start-up culture felt like it was inhibiting company growth since most managers were there because they were technically proficient and not particularly good with people.
