Pros

They sell nice shoes, there is no other pro. This company is just the worst. I have no other pros to say about the company

Cons

This is the worst company I have ever worked for in my whole life. Management is non existent. The top staff are a bunch of bullies. Stay away from this company

Pros

The staff, especially at the Brighton store are incredible and give such wonderful service - they would have been a joy to work with but.,..

Cons

...the way the management programme is run is completely baffling. When it comes to management preparation and organisation it was very poor - not only are you expected to use the point of sale operating system almost instantly but there is absolutely zero training programme whatsoever. You are instantly expected to sell, clean and god forbid never allowed to have one hand in your pocket - this will be seen on CCTV and you are constantly reminded and threatened about that. In fact your job is very much on the line if your soft targets are not met. Contractually you HAVE to work 6 days a week also. However going back to the tasks I had to - I am a member of management who has been very successful for other shoe brands over the years. And I was treated in frankly a patronising and disgusting manner - having to clean, being used as just an extra body to sell and was pulled up on my selling techniques. This is something that I have excelled in for many years and I honestly couldn't believe it. The company is also family run...which is a major problem as you are under intense scrutiny. Truly I didn't want to write this out but I felt it was necessary for others see this as not only I am out of pocket by about £350 (due to not paying back hotel and travel fees) but I have also quit my previous job for this (as they are very very good at selling the job to you) effectively meaning I am now jobless. Thank you for reading this. Don't make the same mistake I did - it was one of the worst I have ever made.

Pros

Made very good friends. Workers are the best of this company. I learned a lot, but only about how to defend myself against people that want to take advantage of me. And I learned how to persuade people into buying stuff they don’t really want. Needless to say I was good at it and Shoe Embassy loved that as they love to lie and persuade to theirs customers.

Cons

First of all, all the good reviews are fake and done by Shoe Embassy themselves. Second of all, I have read all the bad reviews and I can not agree more. I felt bullied, not trusted, pressured, stressed and watched. Since the beginning I was told I could not have break in a 9h/10h shifts because I was alone in the shop and I was NOT ALLOWED TO EAT during it either!!! Constant promises of supervisor and manager positions that they use to keep you going and burn you out. Constant watch from cctv cameras in the shops and then calls from management to correct and call you out on things they thought you were doing wrong. Unstable rotas, I was never sure if I was going to have to work on my days off. Anyway, they are taking advantage of inexperienced girls and use them until they can handle it anymore. Finally, they LIE to customers. The product is not what they say it is!
