Pros

Good local store environment, and a large selection of clothes i actually liked and wanted to sell.

Cons

District management seems to put very little care or thought into employees day to day wellbeing and quality of life. requests for assistance or clarification often get missed or overlooked. underlying pressure and tension that gets played off as standards.

Toxic culture with poor training and high pressure

Pros

The company has recognizable brands and exposure to the retail buying world if you are completely new to the industry.

Cons

Leadership is exceptionally difficult to work with. There is little to no proper training, yet brand new employees are expected to immediately operate at the level of someone who has been in the business for years. Instead of teaching or mentoring, leadership tends to throw employees into high-pressure situations with minimal guidance and then criticize them for not already knowing the process. The culture feels reactive, disorganized, and unnecessarily stressful. Expectations constantly change, communication is poor, and employees are often expected to stay late with little notice. There is no respect for work-life balance, especially for employees with families or long commutes. Rather than developing talent, the environment often feels like leadership is trying to weed people out through pressure and intimidation. Mistakes are treated as incompetence instead of opportunities for growth, which creates a culture where employees are anxious rather than productive. I submitted a professional two-week notice and was let go the following day instead of being allowed to finish my notice period, which ultimately confirmed my experience with the company culture.
