Pros

25% Staff Discount, Christmas Bonus, Christmas Party, uniform is provided, work shoes are now free (whereas before you had to pay for them using your discount) and now £8 is paid towards work trousers (depending on job title, example: I'm a part-time Sales Assistant so I get £8 once a year towards work trousers). At the store I USED TO work in (before it closed down), the store I CURRENTLY work in and another store I have twice COVERED FOR on a Sunday (so that's three separate, local stores) all the staff are absolutely amazing! So, so friendly and upbeat. We banter all the time and they feel like extended family. Who knew you could have such a laugh at work eh? The job itself is mostly very basic and easy, however the frequent moves, finding somewhere to put new lines and filling in empty gaps on shelves when there's not enough stock to do it with can be a bit challenging! :P Add the customers on top and you've got yourself a retail job. Even so, I can't imagine working anywhere else. I just love it.

Cons

Minimum wage. :/ Uniforms aren't very flattering! x'D

Great Company to work for.

Pros

Expect hard word in the fast paced environment. We never stop! But it is the friendliest company I have ever worked for. All senior management are very approachable and your thoughts really do seem to matter.

Cons

No company sick pay and some lone working in branch.

Inconsistently good

Pros

Room for promotion. Good discount. 25%. Local management are usually really good and you have a tight knit team. Competitive pay rates. 1hr lunch. usually 1 weekend day off but can sometimes work both. CEO's are nice. Workload is easy when everyone pulls their weight.

Cons

Sometimes expected/extorted into working overtime for free (not me but other managers) due to certain Area mangers having extreme and unobtainable goals for the store. Sometimes things inside the company make no sense, the way things are done there are much easier ways to achieve the goals they set out which would actually cost the company less money (delivery routes and times for example). Also go about cost cutting in the wrong ways when they do try to. Hours constantly cut. Customer Services is useless and will never back you up. The buying team aren't great either. Higher you go up management the more egotistical they are. I've had some high ranking officials come in and not even acknowledge colleagues, the people who set the standard and at the end of the day make them look good. CEO'S are nice though! All the negatives you won't always have to deal with all the time, but its enough to grind my gears!
