Pros

- Salary is above industry average for Vancouver - One of the well-known tech brands in the Vancouver area - Global footprint - you get to work with colleagues from different continents (Europe, Asia, US-North America) - Undergoing aggressive transformation - very exciting time for those who enjoys lots of change happening concurrently - Along with this there are a lot of exciting and challenging projects, which is great for building out a career - Everyone works very hard. Definitely no place for slackers. - Always finding innovative ways to do more with less - Subsidized cafeteria

Cons

- With transformation brings a lot of uncertainty for the future of this company. - This company expects you to work, and you work a lot. Things move very fast here. People are sacrificing their livelihood and health. There are literally people getting sick because of it. Go to a different company for work-life balance - Too many VPs, Sr Directors, Directors, and Managers. As a result - lots of chiefs moving in too many directions. Not all chiefs are equal in competence. - As a 2nd result, there are lots of fighting between departments. Also lots of fighting within departments. Culture is becoming toxic. - Recent layoffs driving down morale and going through massive cost cutting. - Other than the salary and health benefits, the perks are severely lacking compared to other tech companies - It's in the middle of nowhere in Richmond. If the bridge goes wrong then expect to be stuck in traffic if you're outside of Richmond - Other than work, this company hasn't shown much that it cares about the employees. Seems like anyone is expendable - High turnover, especially at sr management level - Office layout is outdated and the cafeteria food sucks (although subsidized) - No real effort put into company culture. It's mostly work and go home. Not a 'fun' company by any stretch of the imagination. - Entrenched in waterfall mindset. Management hasn't fully grasp agile practices. - Have to be in meetings in European and Asian timezones from time to time

Pros

Great healthcare plan, great HR staff

Cons

In my opinion, this company should be used as an example for law makers to draw up an employee bill of rights or somehow for unions to regain their former popularity. At one point, on average, 1 person was fired every 2 weeks. The CEO/COO perpetuated a corporate culture of fear. This type of environment, which starts at the stop, results in a ripple effect throughout the rest of the company. The people that survived are incredibly judgmental, would constantly talk and skype about each other and on numerous occasions racist remarks could be heard from management and employees alike. Salaries were below average, pay raises non-existent unless your position/title changed, you were required to work federal holidays without being paid time and a half and required to be on standby and take calls in the middle of the night and weekends without any compensation. This was justified as being part of the job and in line with being an exempt employee. This is one horrific company to work for but this is just one person’s opinion based on recent and actual experience.
