Don't Waste Your Time

Pros

The company offers Unlimited PTO, but then they criticize you if you ever want to take a day off.

Cons

Where to start? When I first joined the company, they preached how the company was a family and initially they were very supportive. Then there were some changes in leadership and the culture changed dramatically. Everyone in management is two-faced. My immediate supervisors always told me what a great job I did and they knew that they could always count on me to get the job done. I was even nominated for a Gold Star award where my work ethic was praised and the CEO told me I was a valued employee. Months later the same supervisors, who didn't provide any projects for me to work on while our system was down for months, questioned my work ethic. I pointed out how I had worked through cancer and while my wife was in the hospital because I always did whatever it took to get the job done. The supervisors accused me of "playing the cancer card" which is absurd because if I was doing that it wouldn’t have worked through the medically difficult times my wife and I have had over the last few years. I brought my concerns to HR who supposedly did an investigation. HR told me that the managers had been admonished for their behavior and that they were going to write apology letters, which I never received. No doubt Silotech’s legal team advised against it. After this incident, I was moved to another project where I was sexually harassed by one of the managers. Again, I went to HR with my concerns which fell on deaf ears. HR claimed to have spoken to the manager and advised them that are certain things that shouldn’t be said at work but that was the end of it. Shortly thereafter, I was terminated for supposedly filling out my timecard incorrectly even though I had filled out my timecard the same way for 2 ½ years at the behest of my supervisors. Don’t waste your time on this company. They will use you, lie to you, and dump you when it is convenient for them. In the interim, they will have you training your replacements.

Horrible treatment

Pros

They treat you very well at first and then if you disagree with the CEO, they treat you horribly. If you are at a satellite job, it's good. But the home office is a very unhealthy place.

Cons

They use employees for what they can get from you and then discard you. The CEO is afraid of anything she deems "confrontation," so she lets issues fester then suddenly attacks you with "all the the things you've been doing wrong for a year." Why not train people and give feedback along the way? She is moody and inconsistent in her behaviors and decisions. You never know if she will smile or ignore you.

We at Silotech Group are committed to surpassing the expectations of our clients through our positive attitude, teamwork, and accountability for our actions. Our success is due in part to our diverse workforce and the environment they operate in. We promote a culture of collaboration with positive interaction among others where there is open communication and high degree of ethics in everything we do. We respect that all of our employees have different views, and open dialogue is essential in how we provide solutions to our clients. This is why we hold to the importance of having a positive attitude and teamwork to have it as part of our company core values. It serves to contribute to the success of our clients from our workforce. We look for talented people who align with our culture and who can create and add value to our company and our customers. Unfortunately, there are those who make decisions that go against our core values and conduct themselves in a manner where ethics come into question. Accountability for our actions is a core value that we as a company exemplify at all levels. When an instance of unethical impropriety is discovered from within our ranks, we must own up to it and make the tough decision to respond accordingly. In these situations where an employee is no longer willing to adhere to the ethical standards of conduct and our core values, we must end the employment relationship. Silotech Group does not condone nor tolerate unethical behavior from any of its employees, especially from members in leadership roles. Recently, Tiffany Tremont, our President and CEO was featured in an article in San Antonio Women Magazine (July/August 2021) entitled, “Using STEM to Grow and Blossom” focusing on women in leadership careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math industry. In the article, she stated, “You have to stay knowledgeable to stay ahead.” We have a firm belief that leaders set the example for others to follow. To remain knowledgeable in a cyber focused organization, our corporate and remote leaders must be self-motivated and expected to be lifetime learners through education, training and/or certification which we offer and encourage each employee to use their $2,000 benefit annually and is also in addition to any corporate training provided. This investment in our employees shows our commitment to their future career development and is emphasized in our inclusive 360 employee annual performance appraisals as a key factor in innovation. Self-improvement is a responsibility that is an intrinsic trait Silotech employees possess which in turn logically improves the value we provide to our clients. Thank you for your review, and we wish you the best of luck for the future.

Pros

When on a project they don't care about you as long as you are making money for them so no employee reviews, one on ones, or any idea that you have a new boss(3-4 in 1 year). I only knew based on who had to approve my timesheet.

Cons

- Bait and switch on Job. I was hired to be an architect on a project. I was told "the person currently architecting it was hired for our internal system and so they don't want to do this project and you will be taking over". After a couple of weeks it became obvious that this project was not transitioning to me but that the current architect thought I was brought on as a Data person for the project (not my main skillset may I note). The only way I found out was because I was going through the steps to take over the project and after a week of getting responses of me not needing to do that I asked the current Architect what they thought my role is the project was. At this point other positions outside the company I had turned down. - There is 0 bench time. Don't believe it when they say we do bench between projects. They DO NOT. - Don't bother sharing what you want to learn and grow with, they don't care. Only what project they can put you on and bill you for. First time in my job I was told I should even wash someones car if I need to :s. Little insulting. - You will be hounded on vacation on why you didn't submit your time sheet when you have approved vacation and it is to be an automated process. Every time I got an email about "doing better". Not sure how I was to fix a broken system. I guess the positive is that I got vacation time.
