Pros

A couple of decent people to work with, that I still keep in touch with. While I wasn't on the production teams, it seems like they are true pros. It's just a shame no one has ever, or will ever view the content they spend so much time making.

Cons

The CEO is also the CMO of the Chicago White Sox. Anyone who knows what either of these roles entail would realize that there simply are not enough hours in a week to do both. As such, the CEO is simply a name, and his name does not carry nearly as much weight as the company thinks it does. The management claims they are a digital startup. First off, none of the management understands what digital is. They come from the old boys club way of doing things. (ESPN & CNN) Furthermore, they constantly harp social as the end all be all to company growth. While social is very important, it is more a tool to engage with your audience, not market to an audience. A strong product may lead to a strong social presence, not the other way around. I have been on multiple calls with C-level employees and potential partners such as YouTube, Twitter, Google etc. They all basically laughed us off the call because of the managements inability to speak in a way that their target demographic would ever ultimately relate to. Management also seems to have ADD mixed with short term memory loss. They realize this year's digital network is a failure and then find some sucker to launch a new network with, only to make the same mistakes they did in the previous. Horrible work/life balance. Structure is very top heavy. Very low pay at the middle, and I assume bottom. VERY poor communication. Try to segregate networks from interacting with one another. The list could go on and on. I've worked for some bad, ok and great employers and Silver Chalice makes the bad ones look like paradise.

Pros

Small company that is growing on multiple platforms. It is a good place to build your brand and resume.

Cons

Small company, so you are constantly working and overworked, little room for upward mobility, and several problems with management
