Pros

Buying lots of properties, so there is plenty of work. Promises of bonuses. Promises of being a great place to work. Promises of being a Christian based company.

Cons

Micromanagement to the extreme. False promises. Hard to keep vendors because they dont get paid or paid late. Management looks for who to blame instead of support and trying to fix problems. Overworked and underpaid. Use porters as engineers.

We hate to hear your experience with the company was negative. The company has experienced a tremendous amount of growth and with growth comes triumphs and pains. As a result of the growth a new accounting software was implemented for the A/P process. During the implementation and training period there was a minor delay with payment of invoices. The problem quickly resolved itself. Compensation is addressed and adjusted annually or as needed (promotions). Our engineering team is paid competitively: wages + OT + shared savings bonuses + scorecard bonuses . Both bonuses are paid quarterly and above industry standard. Day porters are used to provide janitorial services for our tenants and buildings. . The company does hold the employees to performance metrics as an accountability tool. Often time employees that are under performing or are not familiar with a culture of accountability can confuse accountability with micromanagement. The company welcomes the opportunity to address the frustrations you experienced while employed with the company. Although we strive for perfection we know that every company has room for improvement (we are no different). Core Value: We are accountable and honor our commitments. Thank you sharing your experience.

Disappointed in Hartman

Pros

Many opportunities to be involved, company encourages involvement in community, weekly bible studies, lots of soft benefits, some leaders in this company genuinely believe in and promote and demonstrate core values, encouragement and kudos from co-workers, many outstanding co-workers

Cons

Too much talk and not enough action by executive team, company leaders are laser focused on being able to advertise that Hartman is the most wonderful place to work, but not willing to listen to the "boots on the ground" employees that are overloaded and tired of the bandaid effect that seems to always be used to fix actual problems (lack of training, hiring employees with little or no experience in MANY departments and then assuming they know how to do their job, incredible delays in producing lease documents, absurd delays in approving necessary repairs at the property level, constant last minute communication regarding very important issues such as paychecks, job duties, scheduling, benefits

Dear Current Employee, thank you for posting your concerns and frustrations! Please schedule an appointment with the HR department to address your issues. We don't want you unhappy, we don't want your lease documents delayed, we don't want you to leave the company. We want to solve the problems. As I am sure you are aware the company hires for core value alignment and potential, not experience. We are not aware of issues relating to paychecks as such matters are taken very seriously. However, we acknowledge there were some timing issues with open enrollment (medical benefits) last year and we are committed to a better time frame this year. Core Value: We care about the customer (external and internal). You are the internal customer and we want to hear from your personally. Thank you for sharing! I hope to h ear from you soon. Horrible place to work

Pros

Health insurance benefits. Decent vacation.

Cons

Owner is a micromanaging joke. Shoves religion down your throat, yet never practices what he preaches. SOP changes constantly to suit senior management. Stress level is ridiculous. Waste an amazing amount of time sitting in pointless meetings. Turnover is unreal. If you last 3 years you are considered a long timer.
