Pros

Good for an entry level position if you have no other opportunities. You can slack off and as long as you obey their rules/policies (no cell phones, talking, arrive on time 8AM-5:30PM). Good place to meet people that can commiserate with you about the job. I made some really good friends working here.

Cons

ENTRY LEVEL PAY/worse. The managers are skilled at providing false hope that there are legitimate opportunities for growth within the firm. They will "promote" you to new positions with little or no pay increase but tell you that within 90 days you can get a raise. The yearly raises that they give are laughable at best (1%-3%) considering you may see 5$ more per paycheck for a years worth of hard work. The higher ups are excellent at micro managing if you aren't performing to their expectations but when you surpass set goals, the goals just become larger. Regardless of your performance, pay is not determined by your work product but by how your manager feels about you. Consistently performing above other fellow employees in your same role only gets you 'pats on the back' so there is really no incentive to go above and beyond as your work does not get recognized in the way that it should (monetarily!). There is no grace period for lateness (not even 30 seconds) and you will get written up if you are late more than 3 times in a 6 month period. They also will write you up for being caught on your cell phone or for talking to other co-workers even when it is work related. The corporate structure, policies, and rules are put in place so that it is near impossible to get the full raise amount and so that management has a list of ways you can 'improve'. Yes, your 6 month (good luck if you get one of these) and yearly reviews will be to discuss how many times you were late or caught on your cell phone rather than your WORK and VALUE as an employee. The atmosphere here is just like middle school so if you are ready to begin your career go elsewhere. Most of the positions require a bachelors degree; however they have manager(s) supervising these roles without even an associates degree!

Pros

Early dismissal on Fridays, the location, the document services/records team, and the settlement team

Cons

Where do I even begin... PLEASE STOP THE MICROMANAGING. Now I completely understand that we should not be able to use our phones during work hours, but Simon & Simon won’t even let you have your phone at your desk BEFORE you’re clocked in. That means they’re telling you what to do before they’re even paying you. The clock in/clock out policies are crazy, you’re allowed two 15 minute breaks a day but only between the hours of 10am-11am and 3pm-4pm. Unless it’s between that time, you better get ready to act like a robot. I once got reported for getting out of my desk to talk to my friend for 1 minute. Mind you, I’m one of the employees that very rarely gets up from their desk. There’s no leniency at all. No overtime offered when you have to work holidays. Several people missed Christmas Eve and Christmas with their families last year because they weren’t able to make it home. No work from home option ever. If weather is bad, they don’t let you leave early. I’ve literally sat in Suburban Station for over an hour trying to get home in a snow storm. Meanwhile our CEO was on vacation somewhere laying on a beach not worried about our safety. Some teams are treated way better than others. The team I worked for worked themselves for 8.5 hours straight just trying to make their numbers. They push numbers on you so hard that the quality of the work actually becomes pitiful. You get a 401k after a year but they don’t match anything. Starting salary for me was 37K but I was expected to work like I was making 60K. PTO isn’t great. Dress code is business casual but CEO walks around in jeans all day. Have you ever heard lead by example?

Pros

Absolutely nothing. Not even worth a thought yet alone an after thought.

Cons

Where to begin? When I was an employee there, they made a sweep and put their employees into categories (that don't even make sense) and cut people off of their health insurance. You had to ask to go to the bathroom and were sometimes told no. Salaries are an absolute joke for the environment and the work load. All around unethical, borderline illegal, don't know how this place isn't shut down by now.
