Pros

I can’t think of any!

Cons

I have worked at several agencies and Sircle was by far the worst. The culture is toxic, the expectations are unrealistic and the leadership thrives on cult like fear and favoritism. From the start there was no proper training. On my second day I was thrown directly into client work with no direction and told I should “take it as a compliment.” Social Media Managers are expected to do the jobs of multiple departments including ads and influencer sourcing without proper tools or support. Burnout is inevitable because overtime is the norm and any mention of it results in more micromanagement and blame around “time management.” The company culture is extremely performative. Leadership constantly posts about valuing “grit” and hard work but employees are discarded quickly. Turnover is incredibly high. Feedback is inconsistent and weaponized, and speaking up about issues only leads to gaslighting and retaliation. Benefits like unlimited PTO and Summer Fridays are advertised but discouraged when you try to use them. Microaggressions and favoritism are rampant. I was one of only a few Black employees in a company full of mostly blonde twenty-somethings. After I was let go, I later found out a meeting was held calling me “aggressive” and “angry,” despite being consistently described as soft spoken. Former athletes and sorority sisters of leadership are prioritized while others are expected to assume multiple roles to prove their dedication with no additional pay. Sircle is disorganized they have endless Google Docs and unclear processes that make your job harder. This is not a place that values its people or their contributions. If you want to experience burnout and constant judgment, this is the company for you. Otherwise, stay far away

Thank you for sharing your perspective. While we’re disappointed to hear this was your experience, we’re always open to feedback and take concerns seriously. We recognize that working in a fast-paced agency environment isn’t the right fit for everyone. We strive to provide clear expectations from the outset, along with training and support, including a comprehensive onboarding curriculum designed to set each new team member up for success. That said, we’re always evolving our processes around onboarding, workload balance, documentation, and employee development to reduce burnout and create greater consistency across roles. Time management is something we actively support, and we encourage employees to fully unplug at the end of the workday and when taking PTO. We’re proud to have a turnover rate of just 13.8%, which is well below the industry average for marketing agencies. We also want to directly address the serious concerns raised around micro-aggressions and favoritism. These behaviors are not reflective of the values we uphold. While we cannot speak to the specifics of any anonymous review, we have no record of the language described being used, and this does not align with the culture we work hard to maintain. That said, we take concerns like these seriously and are looking into the matter further. Currently, approximately 25% of our team comes from diverse backgrounds, and we are continuously committed to growing that number. Fostering an inclusive environment is an ongoing responsibility we take seriously through our hiring practices, manager training, and company-wide DE&I efforts. Finally, while feedback and performance expectations are a key part of our culture, they are never intended to feel personal or punitive. Expectations are clearly laid out from day one, and any performance-related concerns are addressed proactively and respectfully. We are always working to improve how we support and communicate with our team. We appreciate your time at Sircle and wish you the best in your next chapter.

Pros

Remote working and cool clients

Cons

where to even begin... micromanagement is the biggest downside. There's no HR department so there's no way to voice your complaints. A very cult-like culture where you are expected to be completely immersed in the culture, even after hours. You can get experience anywhere, I would move on to another option if you can.

Thank you for the review. I know our Head of Human Resources, Sally O'Rourke, would always welcome open feedback while employed here. We are super proud of the culture we’ve built, and we always give employees the option to participate in our team-building events after hours. We fully understand when they cannot attend and respect the decision and space. We are always looking for ways to improve and appreciate the feedback.

Pros

Wide range of unique and interesting clients.

Cons

The red flags were shown very early, and there are many. Starting from the top, leadership is abysmal. You're encouraged with fluffy words and when it comes time for issues at hand, you're met with their favorite and only solution: 'you should time-manage better'. They will tell you they can't fix what they don't know when you reach a breaking point, but employees live in fear of speaking up because these type of conversations are NEVER well received with leadership. You are knit-picked and called out for the emails you do or don't send, audited and scored on rotation for everything you do which is so degrading at times, and are constantly overworked with internal procedures that leave you with ZERO time to get actual work done, which that alone is alot. They will say how it's all very autonomous, but if you step a toe out of line, it's emails, discussions, 1 on 1's - on how you will fix and be better. There is ZERO work-life balance, sadly. No matter how hard they preach there is, the expectation is to get it all done, no matter if you're struggling or what your workload is. The line between professional and personal life is so blurred, it's egregious. Not to mention the company president, who suffers from a god-complex, constantly urging this type of narrative: If you're not a go-getter (working 50+ work weeks), ride or die the for culture (which is toxic), do it all for the clients (for a low salary), you're lazy. Sircle Media loves to hire "new and fresh" out-of-college people who they can "mold" because they lack the skills to realize how there are no boundaries at this company, workload is astronomical, and salary here is peanuts compared to real market value. Words from their president: "we don't hire seasoned employees with bad habits"(aka people who know their self-worth and know the expectation of how other agencies/companies operate.) Their internal departments are filled with people who message you 10x time per day to do their own work for them and will be the first to report something to leadership. Yet you cannot complain to leadership, because they're all friends and sadly favoritism is very real at Sircle Media. Save yourself the 50+ hour work weeks, military boot camp/cult energy, pretentious leadership, and entry level pay with senior level expectations. Run the other direction, you'll still be a fantastic marketer/creator. The company is not what it seems from the posts on LinkedIn.

We appreciate you expressing your concerns. You are right that we always tell people we can't fix what we don't know about, and genuinely do want every single one of our employees to bring any and all issues to the leadership team, so we can help them before they reach a breaking point. Time management is one of the many solutions we will work with our employees on to avoid reaching a point of burnout, and have successfully helped many of our employees reach a strong work-life balance, if that was an area they were struggling in. We're proud of the internal procedures we have in place that help the company to run as a well-oiled machine, and allow for anyone to be able to jump in and help out as needed. We pride ourselves on having a strong feedback culture and are constantly working on ways to improve our processes based on employee feedback, as well as giving feedback on the personal level to help everyone grow and succeed. We've received great feedback internally from our employees, who've come in at experience levels from entry level through senior, more seasoned employees, that everyone knows what is expected of them in their role, and that they love our culture where everyone feels like friends. We're sorry you did not feel that way during your time here, and hope you've landed somewhere where you are happy.
