Pros

The product itself is really great. As another commenter said, that's unfortunately the only pro these days once you really get into the weeds of this company and how it's changed so much. I wish I had more to say but unfortunately there's a lot more cons

Cons

- The pay is very much below average for market value among many positions here. Especially for a company that's situated in a HCOL (West L.A), contractors and full-time employees are paid low. They'll pay their C-levels good equity and TC but many day-to-day employees make below market (especially true for employees that have been there pre-COVID) - People work a lot of overtime just to get everything done. It's common for people to work 10-12 hour days (some days even more, and even on weekends). Work life balance seems like a joke, especially when new management has come aboard and are just pushing product with minimal staff. - Recruitment for actual day-to-day workers (not C-level execs) is slow and broken, which is unacceptable for the amount of funding they received last year. There seems to be an emphasis on hiring "rockstars" instead of growing and building a team, which makes them miss the forest for the trees in terms of talent. They seem now to rely on referrals and staff them in higher positions, which leads me to believe there's favoritism going on. - Turnover is high. Lots of wonderful people left in the past year due to either burnout, WLB, or just general dysfunction. Again, this was not as much of a mess before the company received funding and got new senior leadership. - Promotions are very hard to come by. Although there are promises of promotions and raises and new titles on the horizon, they will try and recruit people for a higher title without going through the same standards. However again, since they have trouble recruiting and they still have underpaid, under-titled people overworking themselves, this causes some people to be alienated from their work. - Management and leadership are pushing way too fast on tasks and project deadlines for other teams to keep up. Just because it's a "startup" does not mean things can be done overnight and people can keep burning the midnight oil. But it doesn't seem like they care; it feels like they just want to sell thing thing fast for a payout. - People have been fired and let go for "lack of team/skill fit" (with no notice), and some people are scared to speak up because of fear of being let go.

Pros

- Company was accommodative to offer remote work. - Accommodative for work reimbursement.

Cons

- Did not support learning programs to advance in career choices within the company after stating they would support further education. - Very apparent indecisive and ill-advised planning with upper management, which led to multiple failed product launches. - An example of one their failed leadership was highlighted by cutting a program that had very high potentials for market capitalization in late 2019. Our beta product was gaining tremendous traction with consumers and more so with institutions indicating a high growth within the area. But it wasn't enough to convince upper management. Towards the end of 2021, they announced that after careful research and consideration, the program they found (with they're newly staff of market researchers) was indeed the program they had shutdown back in late 2019. - Little room for growth within the company unless you're in tech.
