Pros

Good pay - but that's to keep people there as they will never get these salary levels elsewhere - and they then feel obliged to put up with everything that gets thrown at them..

Cons

There's no easy way to say this. The place is toxic. It's got classic 'start-up' syndrome of looking and feeling quite fun, different and edgy at first. Then the reality kicks in. You will be regularly shouted at, belittled, called out for daring to take leave or ever be sick and only those who choose to position themselves (literally) closest to the CEO, will be favoured. It can be literally a case of walking on eggshells in the office for days on end if the 'mood' isn't good. Unfortunately the under-experienced HR/People team are too scared to call out any unprofessional behaviours and confidences that are broken and it appears that they just want to be friends with the CEO (lots of hugging and giggling going on - really unprofessional). There are some really cool, conscientous, wonderful people in Skewb who want to simply work hard, wow clients and develop themselves and their career but the working environment is just so 'off'... and you only realise quite how bad it was, when you leave!

Thank you for sharing your perspective. We are genuinely sorry to hear that this was your Skewb experience, and while some of the descriptions are difficult to read, we won’t dismiss or shy away from them. We are a company in growth, and with that comes pressure and change which we know can sometimes affect how people experience Skewb. That said, it is unacceptable that someone should ever feel belittled, unheard, or unsafe in their role. If behaviours were experienced that made you feel otherwise, then that is something we take seriously and do not want to see repeated. In recent months we’ve taken steps to start our HR Transformation including introducing more structured learning and through our performance and competency framework we will define expected behaviours at every level of the organisation. Your comments, while strongly worded, highlight that we still have more to do. We will continue to reflect, act, and build a Skewb that people are proud to be part of. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback. It has been heard. If you'd like to continue the discussion please reach out to us at People@skewb.uk

Pros

As many have already said, free food, free drinks. That is about it.

Cons

Where do you even start when everything that is true has already been called out. The odd random " Positive " review is quite clearly leadership or the people teams feeble attempt to add something positive, just look at the language used. Can't hide corporate lingo. This place is just awful and getting worse, There is no real leadership, structure or hierarchy. There is a CEO that swans around with his close friends shouting at people and treating people like they don't really matter. Constant veiled threats saying that if you are not aligned with what being a "Skewber" means to him, then you will be cast to one side with not a thought. He is not a leader, he is a one man army that everyone MUST agree with and conform to. I am not sure what the OPCO even does apart from sit and get TOLD what to do. There is no safe space for employees, everyone is just under constant and unhealthy pressure with little to no recognition. I am not sure what this place is trying to become, massive recruitment drive to bring very good people into the business but they are let down with zero guidance, no clear role, teams or anything really. Some great people have come and gone, I wonder why? You cannot be yourself, you cannot challenge the normal, you MUST conform or you will be out ( Contract allows them to do that ). The severe lack of any teamwork, structure or collective targets to meet as a " TEAM" just do not exist. If you enjoy not wanting to get up in the morning, dread the thought of starting work, live in fear of the CEO and the CULTure that exists in an environment that is not collaborative, not supportive ( Unless you are in the CEO sphere of pals ), want to work all the hours that god sends for 0 recognition and thrive in an environment where there is no progression then SKEWB is just the place for you.

Pros

They genuinely believe and invest in training resources

Cons

My experience of leadership here is disappointing and has a gradual but noticeable impact on morale and confidence. Communication often feels one-way rather than a genuine attempt to understand different perspectives, which makes it difficult to feel heard or valued. Transparency is limited, so priorities and expectations are frequently unclear, creating uncertainty rather than trust. Recognition for effort or results is inconsistent, and positive feedback is rare, even when work is delivered under pressure. Work-life boundaries are not always respected, with an unspoken expectation to be available beyond reasonable hours. During challenging periods, flexibility and empathy feel lacking, which adds to stress rather than easing it. The overall environment does not consistently feel psychologically safe or inclusive, making it harder to speak openly or be yourself at work. Leadership behaviour does not always reflect the values being communicated, which makes it difficult to stay motivated or fully engaged over time.
