Pros

Skillforce prides itself in hiring personnel that can relate to customers and field employees; and for good reason... they're good at it. This isn't a place for someone that wants to work a straight 9-5 as this industry requires more from the individual. With that, these guys (and gals) live by old adage of "work hard play hard" and know how to cut back. If you can't get along with them then there's something wrong with you. They're the best in the business at what they do and I was honored to have worked alongside them. This company is going to continue to excel and will one day own their industry.

Cons

Pride is a major shortfall that exists at all tiers of management in this company. They expect any employee that comes on to spend the rest of their career with in the company. Granted, this is a hugely honorable thing to expect but it might be a bit of a high task for the younger crowds that still may have aspirations in other fields. I had nothing but positive experiences with this company until the day that I offered my 2-weeks and was absolutely blindsided.

All of us here at Skillforce take pride in the hard work and effort it takes to be the best in the industry. Our tenured employees have all experienced advancement opportunities in both income and position and that has been vital to our expansion. We believe it is the individual commitment our employees’ make that drive our success in a work hard play hard family style culture. For the right candidate, this means a long and fruitful career with us. Our goal is to hire, train, and to develop the most experienced staff we can to produce and strengthen our customers’ trust in us. We recognize that is a big reason why top performers stay with companies instead of leaving them, and it is our responsibility to provide those opportunities to every employee without fail. We relish mentoring those new to the workforce but also recognize those people just starting their careers aren't always sure what they want in a professional career. It’s unfortunate for us, but understandable. Fortunately, we work very hard in the hiring process to mitigate turnover and increase and build an experienced top performing team. Thank you for your honest review and best of luck in your future endeavors!

Pros

They will find you work, they like to keep you working. They pay $10/hr.

Cons

Jobs they find, don't last long, you can't go back to job that you worked and get a job. You can't get over $10/hr. unless licensed.

When averaging the pay across all skill levels, our weekly pay per worker is over $20.00 an hour. Sometimes a lot more, sometimes a lot less per individual. In short, we pay for experience, skill, and performance at a market driven industry rate. Ten dollars an hour is our standard general labor or unskilled pay rate, which is actually higher than industry standard. Most general labor staffing companies pay between minimum wage to $9.00 an hour with little or no benefits. Unfortunately and as such, work can be sporadic for those considered "unskilled" in the industry. I would encourage you to ask your branch manager about our trade school tuition program. Learning a skilled trade is an excellent career path for many and ensures consistent, full time work to those who seek it at a significantly higher wage rate. Skillforce hires all its employees on a W2/I9 as a true employee, not a 1099'd independent contractor and every employee is E verified. We do not do permanent placements. In this vein, we partner with our customers to provide them the skilled tradesmen when the need them, for as long as they need them, paying all related payroll taxes and workers compensation insurance. For the employee we have an extensive employee benefits package including healthcare, paid vacations and holidays, and a 401K to name just a few. With the season in full swing there is plenty of steady work available for the right candidate. Thank you for your feedback and please call your branch manager for your next assignment.
