Pros

•The team culture is excellent for a sales company. There is very much healthy competition, but no egos and a real feel of togetherness when working towards targets. This is partly due to the fact that everyone works in their own niche markets. •Skillsearch has a great training programme, which is well structured for both people new to recruitment and experienced consultants. The support offered from both the in-house trainer and the experienced team members allows new employees to have a flying start when they enter the company. •There is real autonomy within the company. If you have an idea on how to improve your personal billing, then you will be given the scope to run with it. •The company has a nice atmosphere and in general is an enjoyable place to work

Cons

•Unfortunately Skillsearch still falls behind its Brighton counterparts in terms of dress code and the office environment. Unlike other Brighton based agencies it’s still expected that you wear smart shirt and trousers to work, where others would have a far more casual environment. There is also extensive room in the office which could be used as a staff break area, both inside and out. However the management have failed to use this space and there is nothing provide any time of team lunch./chill out area. Without any real effort they could provide a work space that would rival other local competitors. •The basic salaries are slightly under the average for Brighton recruitment companies. Although the commission structure is good and rewards those that are doing well. •Skillsearch does not offer any benefits package, of course they will introduce a basic pension when required to with the change in government legislation. However again to bring it in line with its Brighton counterparts it would be a plus to see further pension constitutions, private healthcare and cycle to work schemes would all add to what Skillsearch can offer.

Thank you for the feedback - yes there is a space that we can use but I know that the space was initially earmarked to cope with growth of the consultant sales team rather than a break out area. We will definitely consider the options for its use though.

Pros

* A good company to work for all in all, you are given freedom to manage your own business, no micro management! * Recruitment has long hours so it's great at lunchtime you have the opportunity to actually have lunch, go to the shop, have a workout etc as everyone downs tools for an hour. * In house trainer is a plus if anyone ever needs advice to improve personal performance. * there is a real mix of experienced Consultants and juniors in the team which offers a healthy balanced working environment. * regular achievers event where people who have hit target get to celebrate with an afternoon off and meal on the company.

Cons

* Like with all fast growing companies Skillsearch is no different to experiencing growing pains, historically the wrong people have been hired on occasion so has been difficult to grow as we would have liked. * dress code is extremely outdated a corporate feel when your clients are not corporate still seems weird in this day in age. * Lack of work flexibility, if you give up your evening for a work event you will still be expected 8.30 the next morning no matter what time you get home. * Future direction is not always clear and this can be evident in employees not understanding their career paths and timescales. * compensation and benefits are competitive but by no means the best in the market.

Pros

- Great team that's easy to get on with & supportive - Commission structure is good & allows for big payouts on big months - Nice emphasis on 'team bonding' drinks & meals - Management are generally fair & easy to talk to - Opportunities to move up in the business are generally achievable

Cons

- The dress code is old fashioned (shirt & trousers) and the office would benefit from a more casual code (jeans & t shirt), especially since there are never client meetings in the office - The benefits package is seriously lacking anything other than the usual for a recruiter. The addition of a bike to work scheme & flexible working hours would be nice as a start, additions such as gym membership, fresh fruit Fridays, phone contracts (since we constantly use our phones for work), pension contributions would also all be nice. - Career path within the company needs to be more clearly set out, not enough focus on how to get promoted & what that would mean

Thanks for the feedback. I promise the subject of the dress code will be put back on the table alongside the benefits and clarity on the career path
