Pros

Free Lunches, snacks, location, the office is pretty cool looking.

Cons

I can't believe how much fake reviews are on here. As soon as a negative review is written there is a new positive review almost the same day. This is an attempt to con the true value of skyslope. That should tell you everything you need to know about this company. Its full of cons and ploys. Everything you hear about culture and "golden children" Management all of it is true. How do you have an all hands meeting and when issues are brought up your answer is you shouldn't work here? You are suppose to try and fix the problems, not ignore them. Granted not everything can be fixed, but at least acknowledge there is a problem and put things in motion to try and correct. None of that happened my entire time I worked here. Just be weary of every review you see that read "Hustle is real" or as long as your out your head down and work hard. These are fake reviews most likely written by Tyler or DJ to control the poor score they have on glassdoor. The Hustle is real is a comment Tyler (CEO) says over and over again. He is right the Hustle is real, you are hustling to find another Job! Stay away from this place, the negative reviews are true I promise you.

SkySlope Response

I appreciate the review. As addressed in previous responses, we are looking into the golden children comments as well as investing in leadership coaching to help the management concerns. We take all feedback seriously and can fully validate that Tyler and DJ have never written reviews. We welcome all types of reviews, good, bad or indifferent. We will continue to improve because we recognize we are not perfect, but listening and doing something about feedback is all we can control.

Pros

Free food, terrible snack bar

Cons

The dumpster fire that is Executive Leadership at this place runs on whimsy rather than wisdom. They're like malfunctioning compasses, offering erratic guidance that leaves everyone lost. When their impulsivity inevitably leads to failure, do they own it? No. Instead, they confine themselves to their glass lined offices to avoid accountability, throwing the blame downwards through their managerial food chain, which ultimately hurts everyone. It's like a masterclass in how NOT to run a company. This organization doesn't just drop you in the deep end; they chuck you in and ask why you can't swim like. Ask for help? They'll mock your inability to "execute." Keep trying on your own accord? They'll critique the attempt you make. Actually deliver a result? They'll give you a task 10X harder to "help you grown" Don't be fooled by the company's so-called "golden children". They're masters of manipulation who've been there long enough to understand the art of saying yes to the narcissistic CEO. These imbeciles cast a cloud of negativity that's so thick, you could cut it with a knife. Their toxic energy isn't just depressing; it actively kills innovation and growth. I've watched them effectively exile competent employees who dared to challenge their self-appointed reign. The icing on this cake? Employees are so conditioned to gauge their managers' mood swings that they've created a Slack channel devoted to it. A mood ring would be more reliable. Any leader that inspires such a culture of behind the back communication between employees to find a semblance of sanity has no business leading a circus, let alone a professional team.

An absolute mess

Pros

The office feels like working in SF. It's hard to find that in the Sac area.

Cons

- Crazy turnover. Some departments have no managers because they quit. There are so many empty seats now its sad to see. -Unqualified immature team leads are the ones in charge as a result of no official supervisor. -Clique like atmosphere. Departments hardly interact unless they collaborate directly with each other. It feels like being in a building with strangers. - Nerf guns. Be prepared for work distractions and occasionally being hit. It's part of their culture it's a "take it or leave it" kind of thing here. It's a bro fest activity that can easily be abused to single people out. - Team leads will tell you they will call you out if you make any mistake. Especially in training "embarassment makes people remember better" is what I was told during training. - No accountability. The reviews about the golden children are true. The higher ups all know about the turnover rate and it's for a legitimate reason. I feel bad for HR having to apologize every day. I wish I never gave them the time of day. I was foolish and ignored these reviews hoping it wasn't all true. They are true and I will never forget how I was treated.
