Unorganized firefighting with no onboarding

Pros

Friendly during interviews, promising opportunities to contribute suggestions for growth and expansion of skills within company.

Cons

No job growth available. Leadership is not transparent. No onboarding provided; just expected to pick up new processes and "hit the ground running" in an unreasonable fashion with no communication or feedback. People come and leave frequently so teams are understaffed and budget for roles is less than the market reference range. People at multiple levels leave the organization every few months. Not a sustainable business model, but people are afraid to leave because the job market for such a niche business in the education sector is terrible. Burnout and lack of trust is clearly present within most areas.

Pros

Remote work flexibility Some colleagues are great to work with

Cons

Low Pay Upper Management Doesn't Care Employees leave constantly due to poor treatment, lack of advancement, and low morale. Upper management fosters a toxic environment, and concerns are ignored. Issues are swept under the rug, and leadership takes no responsibility for ongoing problems. Despite being connected to UCSC there is no oversight or concern about the toxic work environment. Employees' complaints go unheard. Little to no career development or promotions.
