Pros

Good customers, fun products, working on weekends is really fun with kids.

Cons

Only care about making money and not staff welfare, the push for sales is really intense and makes people feel insecure about losing their job. Management found out I have a longstanding and managed mental health condition that doesn't effect my work and I was discriminated against by other staff members and two levels of management. I ended up quitting and have a case against them. HR was no better. This company does not care about their staff.

Pros

Everything is bright and colourful. Unpacking the new bright stock can be fun.

Cons

1. The products are overpriced. Customers are constantly complaining that they feel ripped off. 2. A lot of products get brought back as faulty. Customers are constantly complaining that everything is cheaply made. 3.The regional managers are constantly stalking stores to see if anyone is “not working hard enough”...There is no trust in the business at all. 4. Never expect to get any praise or acknowledgement for your hard work. Expect a lot of back lash if you make a tiny mistake or if you don’t finish a job on time. 5. The pay is extremely bad (especially for managers. You can barely make a living!) 6. There is a lot of power play in this business. Don’t ever expect for your needs to be met or your voice to be heard. 7. They throw too many jobs at you that involve a lot of physical labour and give you hardly any time to finish the jobs. (They constantly call you to see how much of the job you have done too) 8. The company gives you 1000 jobs to do but then is very slack with how many hours they give you. (Expect to do a lot of unpaid work just to keep on top of things) 9. They are very slack with their hours. Casuals only get 3 hour long lunch cover shifts. 10. The emails at work never work so it’s hard to stay updated on what tasks you are meant to do that day/ what new sales are happening in the store. This company used to be a pleasure to work for but it has started to fall apart these past couple of years. Everything I once loved about this job is gone now. They changed everything!!! If you work here then I recommend only being a casual. The pay is alright and you don’t need to stress about all the responsibility that comes with running a store. (Don’t expect long shifts though)
